Wow, you efforts are well represented! I can see you sanded down the prominent zig-zags, you deserve points for that. -

My concern would be the alcohol in Tamiya paint, maybe you can clip off a part of the tires Sprue and soak it in some alcohol, see what it does.

Sprue Brothers has a sale that ends midnight EST today, anything in your cart over $50 GETS A 10% discount automatically. It’s a good chance to get a discount on something that normally does not go on sale!

If you want to weather the tire, try using Tamiya pigments, they seem to stick pretty well to everything.

Cool build! Hey, Ernie, we talked about you tonight and the IPMS meeting. A guy brought in his 1/48 B-52 he got for Christmas, i have to say, I was highly impressed with how incredibly light and thin the fuselage was, and how heavy and still the wings were, beautiful surface detail. We discussed the B-36 you have and how much bigger it must be. -
I love mine.

I have both Mk.II kits side by side, they are exactly the same plastic, the only difference is the additional “Eddie” sprue, and decals. funny you say no dihedral, I have plenty of dihedral, look at the shadow on my bench. From root to tip, it’s about 6-7mm. -

I need to get the tracks on this thing and take some pics, so I can call this one done in time for the group build. -
You know....since you are building a Mig-31....you might as well build the new tool SR-71 coming out this year....

Has Combat Models ceased trading?
1to1scale replied to Captain Boogaloo's topic in Modelling Discussion
A guy that goes by the name “tigger” on LSP bought them a while back, I can’t remember if he named the company Combat, but you should be able to get ahold of him that way. last contact info I had... john@skywriters.net -
I have been wanting this one for a long time, it’s a “need to buy” kit for me. Hopefully it will fall within my monthly allowance. It’s hard to say when, their 1/72 kit took 6 months from announcement to release.

Got the plane together and sprayed seams to look for areas that need filler. Top is mostly good, the bottom wing at the back is a bit of a mess, I need to cut some sheet styrene to fill the back gap. -

Nothing has been glued yet, I still need a good head on shot of the gear to set the angle. -
And it will make a great air racer with that prop!
-
It might be a while before I can get one, but I know they will be available for a while. so..if this is the third of the series, and they really are still producing 1/32 kits, does that mean we might be getting a new kit next year? Or maybe a F4U-4, or Mk.II spitfire?

I fit g-factor gear to the wing and got the fuselage closed up. I also fitted a tube with a magnet at the bottom to mount it to a base. -
I am only building 1/32 kits anymore, but i may make an exception for this.
