  1. Carl Would be great to buy the Sabre and restore it to non-flying display condition for the yard. Food for Disney Dreams Peter
  2. Jerrry Congratulations on the birth of your grandson, Elijah Jacob. The best joy in life. Peter
  3. Ernie I just can't believe it. Please send all my prayers to Harv and Bev. Deep down I know, all will be fine - it just takes time. Peter
  4. Yikes, snow in Texas Have you tried making a snowman - could be iconic. If I could remember how to post photographs (I'm working on it), I post a few pics of good old Long island. It's been averaging snow two to three times a week and we've already had more snow then for the year! Peter
  5. Thanks Guys - great to be back and working at the bench again. Just can't tell you how much I missed al my friends. Peter
  6. Hi John Feels great to be back and now how to remember how to do things. Peter
  7. A few years ago I woke up one day and realized I was totally burnt out, I just couldn't sit at the bench - the juices were gone! What started out a as short break, eventually became a few years. This past fall I began to feel physically weak, no energy and couldn't walk more then a few yards - as I was totally exhausted. Long story short I was diagnosed with cancer: non - Hodgkin's Lymphoma in early October. After starting chemo therapy, numerous hospital stays, my oncologist/hematologist has the cancer under control. What they say is true, chemo therapy is rough with all the chemicals leading to issues and side effects that need to be dealt with. I'm half way through my chemo sessions - approximately a 16 plus week program, not counting the missed sessions due to hospital stays and transfusions. Atrophy had set in and I needed a walker to help me keep my balance but I'm finally walking again. I'm hoping modeling will be my therapy for my hands hand muscles and closing in on what they once were. I've started working on the Academy F-16I Sufa and in a week or so, hopefully will be able to post a short update on my progress. I have been lurking all the time I was absent from the forum and will be catching up on all the builds. I know all my friends on the forum will help me keep a positive attitude, as I push forward to beat my cancer. Looking forward to bench time and spending time with all the guys. Peter
  8. Holy Cow - another awesome Chopper build. Terrific work and the interior is brilliantly doner Keep 'em comin Peter

  10. Martin I'm just blown away - amazing work - simply amazing Keep 'em comin Peter
  11. Ernie The "extra" set of controls look mighty good. Of course, back in the day, most mechanics surely knew how to 'wing it' Keep 'em comin Peter
  12. MIke Brilliant ... looking simply stellar: NMF! Keep 'em comin Peter
  13. Geez, what memories .. I mean the movie - I'm old but NOT that old! Peter
  14. Tony Looking mighty sweet and I'm more in tune with Ernie that the judges might notice the seam on the boot and not know it really represents an actual seam. Martin's suggestion an adding a bit of stitching is a great idea. Keep 'em comin Peter
  15. Frank Awesome progress on the detailing and cammo/weathering. Looking mighty good and the weathering is spot on. Keep 'em comin Peter
  16. John Great idea and I'm strapped in for the journey. Keep 'em comin Peter
  17. Thanks Guys Wumm, just good to be back and building again. Right now, we are having some pretty powerful Thunder Boomers and I've been so busy at the bench, I just noticed. Thanks Bill; The Tiffy is making steady progress and the front office is almost to the point of the required update... News at 11! Ernie, thanks for checking in a and it's great to know we've all been in the same boat at one time or another. MY Tiffy and your Lanc, two Big Bursars for sure but it looks like they did the trick Peter
  18. Congrats Carl ..A true modeler in the works! Peter
  19. Ernie Just finished catching up and as always am thoroughly enjoying each update, all the posts and comments from the gang. Following and learning from your progress is a treat but your build threads go way beyond ‘what I’ve done’, as the work progresses it becomes an adventure we all are sharing together. Fantastic work my friend, just stellar. The discussion of traffic was kicked around and I couldn’t agree more. Afterall, I live on long Island (New York) and our traffic is world famous. Cram as many millions of people onto the island, plunked adjacent to the east side of NYC and we’re talking traffic! Oh what a joy going anywhere at the speed of a snail, which becomes going no where fast! Keep ‘em comin Peter
  20. Yup, I’m right in line with Hubert and the guys, as I’ve long run out superlatives and just stare in amazement at every photograph, coupled with your narration on how the work was done. Surely I’m in the Modeling Twilight Zone as I enter each update Keep ‘em comin Peter
  21. Hi John Great to see the preliminary air brush work underway and the P-39 is moving down the line Keep ‘em comin Peter
