  1. John Looks great and no sweat: snapped into place is perfect. Careful and precise work: no problems down the road. Keep 'em comin Peter
  2. Thanks Ernie They were a ton of fun and I can't believe how many years have passed since then. peter
  3. Just thought I would follow Ernie's lead and post two photos of my favorites right up there with the Mossie. Peter
  4. Ernie Absolutely an amazing build, simply brilliant my friend Peter
  5. Why oh why not a 32nd scale B-58 ? Peter
  6. Ernie Just build and enjoy .. I've reached the point in life where time is very important and alternating scales is the perfect answer. Peter
  7. Thanks Phil, Ernie and Maru I know how Ernie feels and while a 32nd scale guy, I do enjoy building in 48th scale as well: Size, space and time ... yikes, where have I heard that before? I've built Tamiya's 48th scale Tomcat and nearly done with Eduard's GR.9 Harrier in less time then building just one 32nd scale kit. Enjoyable, fast moving and fits so nicely in the display case. Of course, being a glutton for punishment, there are a lot of jets I have in both scales and a quickie example: 48th Scale F4 Phantoms .. All the ZM kits and a few Academy kits to fill in the blank spaces. 32nd scale F4 Phantoms: Tamiya F-4's Still waiting for "the 32nd scale" F-14 but thoroughly enjoying Tamiya's 48th scale Tomcats Props ... nothing like 32nd scale Just my worthless two cents Peter
  8. Thanks John Hoping to be done by the end of the month and then back to a few 32nd scale build. Just seems there is always either something I missed or did wrong ... nothing new about that these days. Peter
  9. Maru A better memory then mine and I’m still smiling inside and out Peter
  10. martin I'll give it a shot. I'm deep into photography, so I have a habit of doing my post work a certain way Peter
  11. Ernie I'm plotting and planning on making Chattanooga next year and seeing your s'ecret itinerary' could be a bit daunting for a spry 71 year old Peter
  12. Geez, old habits are hard to break as I still upload from Image Shack. Is file size an issue as my final upload files are 1280x1024 from 47MP files. Peter
  13. Maru OMG ... thank you so much ... you made my day. As a pilot and a long time Nikon shooter, I was simply blown away by the images. Of course, the one that stole my heart was the head on image of the Piper J3 - magnificent. Peter
  14. ERnie Looking mighty good ... nothing like a P-51 basking in the sun to get the old heart pumping. Keep 'em comin Peter
  15. Martin How sweet it is. Yup, mental cruelty for sure - has to be a legal issue here somewhere Keep 'em comin Peter
  16. Kent Fantastic re-build - just brilliant work. I can only imagine what your planning on doing with the big 32nd scale Lancaster when she arrives. Just a joy to follow your work Peter
  17. UPDATE: 8/18/18: DECALING IS UNDERWAY Always pushing to make progress and of course; I made blunder number four in my zeal and I didn't even realize that I had the chaff and flare dispenser installed backwards until after I air brushed on the MRP medium Sea Gray.! What a boob I am!! Normally when using Tamiya Extra Thin, parts can be popped off without much trouble and of course in this case it wouldn't, as the part is held in place with a plug that was very well secured with a boatload of Extra Thin. My only recourse was to cut the part off with a micro saw, sand and clean up the mess, then install the part correctly. When dry it required three healthy applications of Squadron Green Putty to blend everything in, priming with Mr Surfacer 1200 and then a few light layers of MRP paint. All told a good amount of unnecessary of work if I hand my thinking hat on. The Harrier was glossed with Mr Color Clear Gloss thinned with Mr Color Leveling Thinner plus some Mr Color Retarder: smooth, hard as nails and ready to go. While I'm only at the beginning of the decal stage, I thought a quick update would keep things flowing as to where I am and break up the building sequence a bit. Decals are by Cartograf and on their end, no problems. It was a bit of a pain to get the tail decal to lay down over the leading edge but so far, so good with a fair am amount of Micro Set and Sol. I'm sure I'll need a bit of touch up to blend the two sides together where they touch on the leading edge and that the right hand side decal work, starts tomorrow. As decal work continues, I am finding a rather strange pattern: Eduard's decal and placement diagrams laid over some very nicely done scale drawing are showing a few short-comings with the kit: Some panels and panels lines are missing or not in the correct place The lower blowout doors have not been molded or even depicted with recessed panel lines. Either Eduard should have correct the kit or corrected the decal placement guide. Not a biggie but still a bit of a let down. Next up: More decaling and finishing up the canopy. Thanks for checking in Peter The caff and flare repair - done and in the books
  18. Maru, So very much appreciated Fanstastic to se you posting on LSM and it's surely starting to feel like the Old Gang again and happy days ahead. Making some progress and hoping to finish up the Harrier in a few weeks as I have a number of 32nd scale projects piling up and ready to go. Peter
  19. John Seems to be my specialty these days but all fixed, gloss on and decal work is under way. Peter
  20. Jeroen Yikes, the PE spare looks tremendous Keep 'em comin Peter
