  1. Kai Beautiful work my friend and your abilities in adding details and corrections is amazing; just wish I had a tenth of your abilities - I surely would be a happy camper. Just a pleasure to follow your work Keep 'em comin Peter
  2. Tony Nice to see the Mitchell back underway. Just take your time and another beauty will emerge. Keep 'em comin Peter
  3. Thanks Danny She is back and underway again, even if my bench work sessions are very late at night and into to the early morning hours so I can keep making progress. Peter
  4. David Right with you for sure. My mix may not be 100% accurate but it's what I've seen and remember. I'm as surprised at how many shades and different model paints there are of the same color. Peter
  5. Thanks Kai Just love Tamiya kits and even the past few weeks of being over whelmed with work (I'm semi retired), the holidays and my Honey Do lists, I'm back working at the bench again and should have an update by the end of the week Peter
  6. Gaz Always my first plan of action but after days of dropping parts, she banished me from asking for help. Could blame her her as I turned into a runaway train of lost parts lately. Peter
  7. Mike Super progress and nice to see the 190 making progress, (like I should talk, working at a snail's pace on my F4U build) Keep 'em comin Peter
  8. Rob Terrific progress on the jug - looking so good. I've seen many a Jug, especially at the American Air Power Museum (at the Old Republic Plant) before she was damaged and Jugs always look like a Brooklyn born Guy, crusin to give a bruisin. Keep 'em comin Peter
  9. Hubert You kill me and so far, I've started a few and nothing across the line. Peter
  10. John My money says, instructions not needed when a yamiya R2800 is on your bench and ready for assembly. How many have you built since Papa tamiya let the first one fly? Peter
  11. Going to be following both builds as I have gained a soft spot for the Mossie after building the Tamiya kit. Just have a feeling, two epic builds are on the way Peter
  12. Carl Super impressive and I can't even say what a start and this baby is almost together and ready for the paint shop. Sure looks good. Keep 'em comin Peter
  13. Phil Nice progress for sure and nothing like keeping the bench full of on going projects - seems we all belong to the same Get 'em going" fraternity Keep 'em comin Peter
  14. John Gota love it: a Gem from the Iron Works gang. will be following with HUGE interest and enthusiasm, as Grummans is near and dear - I grew up 15 minutes from the Bethpage plant. Glad to see you're also planning on the Airfix 24th F6F Cat and I'll be joining you fr sure. Keep 'em comin Peter
  15. Danny Will be following ... going to be a gem Peter
  16. John I'm buckled in a will be following and I just have to get the Corsair finished before you blow by me with the Sea Hurrican Peter
  17. Hi Harv N12 assembly 90, and N23 assembly 89 are for the wind fold details page 37 and K25 is a tie down hook page 36 assembly 87 Peter
  18. Hi Guys Lost parts Been trying to find bench time this time of the year and keep moving forward on my Corsair. Somehow, I've developed a good case of the 'drops' and have managed to loose three key parts: N12, N23, and K25. I called Tamiya Customer Service looking to purchase the complete frets with these parts (the only way they are sold/replaced) and was told the frets are not in stock, they will need to be ordered and they might be in by mid January with no guarantee. I can proceed with the Corsair but once I reach the priming stage (not to far down the road) I'll be stuck in the mud. Not sure what to do and without knowing I'll have the parts to complete the Corsair, I've decided to just put her on hold and wait and see. Peter
  19. Thanks Carl The OD looks smooth with even coverage. With your thumbs up, I'm going to buy a half dozen or so colors and give them a shot. Peter
  20. Martin .. completely agree as there is only one US distributor as well and just seems what I need is nearly always out of stock Peter
  21. AK Real Colors: Read with great interest Ade's review on the Modeling News. As an acrylic lacquer, it caught my eye and I'll be giving it a try in the not so distant future. While my main go to paints are Mr Color, I've been looking for a line of lacquers that not only deep with all the needed colors but will be available from a number of online vendors. Has anyone tried the new paints yet? The Modeling News link: http://www.themodellingnews.com/2018/12/133-new-colours-in-ak-interactive-air.html#more Peter
