  1. Thanks Peter, I was a little surprised myself that the engine is fairly detailed and it’s hidden. There is a witness line of hatches for the engine in the compartment floor, I’ll have a closer look……
  2. Some time at the bench over the weekend. Finally got the wings fixed on the Wildcat, had to borrow heavily from John’s bank of words. Having put the F4F-3 aside, started on the half track. This is 1.5 steps in the instructions, which you have to read five times. The fuel tank and engine (not shown) are completely hidden by the compartment floor, so these elements will be utilised as salvage junk in the back of the Famo when I start that project……this is quite small at only around 7” long. The inner wheel sets need adding but the sequence dictates adding some colour and weathering prior. I had forgotten how tiny some the components are, very enjoyable……the front axle is fully articulated with a little bit of thought…..
  3. Always liked the looks of the A4, rarely see it built……looking good….
  4. That’s a cool project Rob, I’m with you about half track’s. Now have this and the Famo in stash. That’s a lot of PE, great fun. I’m looking into soldering the large items of PE. I used to do this awhile ago it would work well on the PE hull of yours….
  5. You will enjoy it, I did their Pz IV H, very enjoyable and a ton of spares left over…this one….
  6. Thanks Gaz, for all the Dragon quirks I still love them to. Have you tried RFM yet..
  7. Stunning Mark, is a bulk order of masking tape on its way?
  8. You beat me to it Peter, John I do not think you have ever just chugged along on any build…….looking mighty good …..
  9. I hate it when I loose anything, especially to the carpet muncher……this was one of best eBay finds, all in postage £30.20 or $37.27……so buck per hour I reckon I’m doing alright………
  10. Cool project, know nothing about helo’s but will follow with interest….
  11. Sweeeeeeetttttttt exemplary as ever, so a squadron of F80’s to go with the Corsair’s ………isn’t about time to do another……
  12. Thanks Peter glad you’re onboard. Knowing Dragon probably a third of the parts will be redundant…….
  13. Thanks Gus, always like the quirky and seldom modelled builds. One bullet in that amount would sharpen the mind……..
  14. Looking good Gaz, I might have a go at adding some figures to the Flammpanzerwagen……I said might……..ironic I have a number figures from old builds, mostly Tamiya, nothing in quality to yours it could be a start……
  15. With the Lysander ready to photograph and the F4F-3 ready for wing mounting and final fettle before the booth. It’s time to start something fresh. Having had a couple of planes on the bench, I think an AFV will suffice to keep the creative juices flowing. Having had a very good run of eBay bargains recently ie Panzer Kpfw.I Ausf.A, FAMO & SD.Ah.116 Tank Transporter, SD.KFZ.7/1 FLAKVIERLING 38 and Sd.Kfz. 251/16 Ausf. C Flammpanzerwagen. I am going to make a start on the Flammpanzerwagen. This will be my first half track and a kit you never see built. The Sd.Kfz. 251/16 Ausf.C Mittler Flammpanzerwagen which was a basic SPW vehicle fitted out with two 1.4cm flame projectors on either side of the fighting compartment with two fuel tanks mounted inside the rear compartment with 700 litres of fuel and the associated pumping equipment and fuel lines to the projectors. Must have been a terrifying prospect meeting one of these. As usual Dragon give you a box and a half of plastic, 710 parts (649 in grey styrene, 17 in etched brass, 17 in tan vinyl, 16 in clear styrene, 7 stickers, 2 turned brass, 1 section black nylon string, 1 section white vinyl string). Please join me for another dive into Dragon (literally) world.
  16. You’re absolutely right Peter, we’re spoilt now with new moulds and techniques. I don’t mind a challenge ironically Tamiya AFV’s do not interest at all. Give me a Dragon with rubbish instructions and missing parts and lots of AM ……
  17. Thanks Peter, I was looking at the surface area which Trumpeter give you…….hmmm even the tabs are on the mean side. Really not sure if I’ll attempt another Trumpeter 32nd. Just waiting for my new needle clutch to arrive but at the moment it’s work day……..you days remember those……right…..
  18. Thanks Peter much appreciated, masking was tricky on this because of the high wing and struts. Great to see you back, hope everything went well with the renovation and hopefully the new bench and booth is ready to go. I have to photograph the Lysander and the Ju88 for you guys but having a nightmare with the camera at the moment, must read the instructions…..
  19. Wings now put together with a bit of John’s cussing……but I think they went together ok, a shot before buttoning up…….this project has to go on hold for a bit as I dropped my airbrush and broke the needle chuck. The back cover was off for cleaning. I’ve ordered a new one, surprisingly cheap £5.50 but have to wait. So literally it’s fettle the wings and mount them and then prepare for the booth…….not sure what the next project is going to be yet…….maybe an AFV….
  20. Amazing progress, looking forward to the next update…..
  21. Amazing finish, your paint work is immaculate, stunning……
  22. Just turned 62 here as well, been working from home since March 2020, as soon the company says I need to return it’s going to be adios suckers……..they are pushing three days a week now but dodged it so far…..
  23. Thanks Mike for asking this question it has been on my mind to. Very much doubt I’d buy the Quinta anyway for obvious reasons but has anyone looked at KitsWorld products. I believe they are UK based but not sure how the stack up against the competition. Specifically looking at the 32nd Mossie set…..
  24. Just catching up Rob after a nightmare week at work. Your build is stunning and so neat, looking for to the masts etc…
  25. ThIs would be an amazing conversion, wonder how difficult it would be?……
