Thanks Gus and Harv, I think I’ll wait until the relative dies back a little before contemplating another Trumpeter large scale kit. Weather looking good for some booth action whilst listening to the 2nd Test Match……………Test match, a game that could take up to 5 days to complete and then end in a draw……..love it…… -

Coming on a treat John, agree with Dennis about seeing one of these built. Surely they didn’t strip the cockpit just to sell an AM set. Probably bring disingenuous……looking forward to the next instalment…. -

Alain, looking very good, check the wing fitment to the fuselage. On my SH Mk V, I had some serious fowling issues of the cockpit cage and the wing……..hopefully the got it right on the Mk 2 -

What did Mutley do in the Wacky Races………the weather is still rubbish today. In a way Gus, the build went relatively smoothly bar just stupid engineering shortcuts causing innumerable problems. A big 47 would be nice …… -

Gaz, that would be interesting build, not sure if there are any alternative manufacturer’s. Perhaps ZM may do another allied single seater!…… -
Peter, only ever built one Spit in my modelling career and that was badly. So going to watch with fervent interest. One Spit and no Hurricanes, how remiss am I……….

Thanks Peter, this has been a very unusual build for me. Parts count was relatively small but PE quite extensive. Let’s see how the primer turns out. Not sure if to do grey or black ? I’ll probably get a better “marbling” with a grey on top of black primer?…….. -

The Wildcat lives up to its name or Trumpeter’s design department. The wing root was a royal PITA…… so taken me awhile to clean, fettle etc. First base coat tomorrow to show up all the horrors……- 169 replies
