I was wondering If you're aiming for a Soviet era machine, Satin grey. in contrary with the popular belief that Mug-25s were extremely weathered. 42 years ago, when Belenko landed in Japan, his plane was relatively well documented and on all of the available photographs you can see, how clean was this thing. I know the stories about rust etc., but frontal aviation was regarded as the top. another shiny example 1986 1970s There are two areas of discolouration . The front part that was covered while stored outside, receiving slightly darker appearance. and the heat emitting areas around the engines. Even in the late eighties and early nineties they still looked relatively OK From then on everything went sour

To play the devil's advocate, I believe that the 5th. generation fighter is a swan song for piloted jets, no more heroes and tallies on the tails anymore. Let us get ready for drones and digital creepiness

Ernie is actually super productive , as only few modeller I know he's willing to undertake builds of models that dread due this complexity or lack of detail simply because there is nothing else around. Guts and dedication .

Martinnfb replied to Mikester's topic in Modelling Discussion
For some reason I recently gave away my A-4,,, literally, realizing that A-1 full of goodies will be more than enough to represent this type on my shelf. And like everyone here I'm struggling with the size of double engine models. There is Uhu,B-25 and Heineken on the back burner already for the very same reason. -
Thank you Peter, That picture requires triple click
