  1. I know mine (a Mk IV with the glass nose - the most beautiful Mosquito IMHO) will be finished as Don Mc Vicar’s CF-ZFG, a racing Mossie for the Bendix Trophy, all yellow with a green trim. A pity HK Models f#&!-up the wing root profile … I’ll let you guys go looking for the said Mossie. You may be tempted to read the book by Don Mc Vicar, really enjoyable and fun Hubert
  2. As the name indicates, I think Adriatic Models is run by an Italian guy, Ernie, not Oliver … Hubert
  3. So you were in a COMMUNIST paradise, Martin ? Tssssk …. Tssssssk ….. Tsssssk 🫣 Hubert
  4. +1 ! These Planet Models resin kits aren’t too bad, actually. Not Fisher, Silver Wings or Lukgraph levels, but you can get good results with them and a little TLC. Hubert
  5. Nice work, Neil. it’s good to see a quality Revell release, all the more so of an iconic aircraft. Well done 👍! Hubert
  6. The only issue of the Waldron set is that they rust, by simple contact with body moisture … But somehow, probably linked to the cristalline structure of stainless steel, which includes chromium crystals, you cannot get as sharp edges with stainless steel punches as with ordinary steel … My micro-punch set has also steel punches, and they rust, even when I never touched them, given the way the set is designed. Hubert
  7. I have no first hand experience of Yellow Wings (not yet, as I have some in the AM stash) but I have read the decals were very thin and transparent, so beware … Hubert
  8. Niiiiiiice, Peter 👍 ! And I love the new scheme you have chosen for your signature… Hubert
  9. Told you this guy had a strange look ... Hubert
  10. Ah. I thought it was your last build. Nice build nevertheless (but the LG should be vertical and normal to the ground) Hubert
  11. Very nice Tojo, Gary. If I may, your pics got me wondering, and I then checked period pics, but the angle of the MLG looks weird, unless the kit felt itself suddenly with weak knees in the warm Australian sun Hubert
  12. Wow, Dean ! May I suggest an add-on to your tool chest, that might be useful for this project Hubert
  13. The main problem with getting old is that stiffness shifts places in the body … from where it’s wanted to where it’s not wanted 😉 And Gary, take care. I am afraid we are entering an era where we will have to cope with regular returns of Covid, just like we have colds and the flu coming back every year. Not a funny perspective ☹️ … Hubert
  14. Oh, and by the way, you can tint aluminium foil and achieve different colors by boiling it with egg shells and metals like lead, coins, etc … HTH Hubert
  15. She’s looking good Mike. Actually, a collapsed LG Would be quite prototypical of the Buffalo 😉 Hubert
  16. Actually, a set for a wheeled version would also certainly apply to a float version of the same airframe … Hubert
  17. No, I did not win the Lottery, unfortunately … I did not like the events that led to a lot of eminent members being banned, and provoked the great Exodus to this forum. I was not banned, but decided to stop participating and PMed to that effect to the mods, explaining my reasons … not that it prompted any reply, btw … Hubert
  18. I have already told how I liked your Twogar, John. I am very tempted to finish mine to reproduce this very well known picture of a mishap where the pilots escaped, but the airframe finished at the bottom of the sea … Hubert
  19. What a surprise 😂 ! I would believe that, among the things not allowed to be touched in the sale contract, the paint, being a key part of the stealthiness of the airframe, can be no other than the specified grey. (Only the Israelis seem to have been able to play with the software suite, apparently) Hubert
  20. Your Kingfisher seems to have the Vought float, Peter (the telltale of the EDO float is that it is longer, with most of the extra length being aft of the rear float strut). For me, it would good news for the KH 1/32 Kingfisher, as I prefer yellow-wings schemes, but I do not know which scheme you are leaning on. Anyway, Vought floats could be found on the pre-war / early war Kingfishers, especially on BB squadrons, with silver fuselage and yellow wings. HTH Hubert PS edit: to be fair, the float looks like the illegitimate child of a Vought and EDO floats mating during a long cold night … Still, with the chin going steeply up, it’s more VOUGHT thaN EDO, whilst the rear of the float has taken a bit of both parents …
  21. FYI, this is now on hold for about 10 days, as I leave tomorrow for France for a number of business and medical appointments, and some family events. TBC when I come back. Hubert
  22. You can always go roaming on Master194, looking for Sweety. Not been personally on that site for ages, between the ever-present bullies and the chainsaw massacre of the French language and syntax … Using the tool is easy, as you push down on the spring-mounted punch. So no hammer necessary. Which is good on small dia punches. Plus, as you mention, it is guided in the vertical plane. I can’t remember if I paid the set 129 (most likely) or 169 €. If RP Toolz have a set, it’s probably good buying one. Hubert
  23. If it’s not too regularly distributed, the white overspray on the prop may actually be a nice weathering touch. Hubert
  24. Gary, One thing I found out is that high-quality, thick, kitchen foil, works better for compound curves. The thicker, the better, because it can thus stretch when burnished. I also found that The Micro Foil Adhesive can be diluted with alcohol, and will keep its qualities. The interest is to make it more fluid, and lay a thinner, self-levelling layer. I lay the glue on the plastic with a brush, and apply the foil where it’s needed without fearing of the foil adhering to unwanted places, nor glue « ridges » because it’s too thick. Hubert
