2nd Annual LSM Christmas raffle and winners list
HubertB replied to Clunkmeister's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, Ernie. Great list ! (And can you please update my donation in the front page list ?) Hubert -
Very impressive detailing work ! As for the white, a small touch of ochre would probably break-off the coldness of the base color(yeah, I know, white is not a color ). And it would blend nicely with subsequent weathering. Hubert

Thinking about 3d printing a P&W R-985 1/24
HubertB replied to CrankyCrafstman's topic in Modelling Discussion
If you focus on the cylinders, I have done the design for the crankcase and accessories. I should actually resume work on the cylinder-and-head design .... Hunert -

I answered in your other thread. If you need the whole rear accessories design, I have done the design for 1/32. Hubert -

HubertB replied to CrankyCrafstman's topic in Modelling Discussion
Did you design this one, Ron ? I stalled on my own design, at the cylinder design stage. Anyway, I am interested in a 1/32 version, and have the printer to print it. I also know for sure that Lukasz of Lukgraph was looking for one R-985 design. Hubert -

1/18 P51C Mustang "Lopes Hope 3rd"
HubertB replied to airscale's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
You are generally right, but in the case of Lope’s Hope, which is the restored Mustang Peter is reproducing, the anti-glare panel has this unique triangular shape. Hubert -
Soar Art Workshop 1/35 Dora Railway Gun, 800mm.
HubertB replied to NigelR32's topic in Armour/AFV Reviews
AFAIK, MEK is a lot « hotter » than standard polystyrene glues, and will work on ABS or PMMA (Perspex) Hubert- 12 replies

I have a solution for you guys : kits take a lot less space unassembled in a box. Why do you think I have such a big stash, rather than overcrowded shelves ? Hubert
-
Do as you wish guys. If I had 200 grand to invest in an electric car, I’d get a Porsche Taycan... And as a bonus, whilst you old farts sit three-in-a-row in your monster truck, I’ll get three hot chicks in my beautiful, environmentally-friendly, car ... They can even be Swedish, if that matters Hubert PS: besides, I am already driving an ugly electric vehicle, with two-passengers’s capacity, big tires, and a rear-loading platform ... when I go golfing

1/24 scale DHC-2 Beaver actual build
HubertB replied to CrankyCrafstman's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
On the same site, there is a second walkaround, with this specific pic, among many, on the float rudders cables. http://grubbyfingersshop.com/walkaround_galleries/DHC-2_Beaver_DQ-GWW_Fiji_Walkaround Gallery/content/DHC-2_Beaver_DQ-GWW_Fiji_024_large.html Hubert -

Kittyhawk’s 1/32 Mirage 2000 seems available, or it should be anytime soon. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kitty-Hawk-KH32020-Mirage-2000C-Model-Kits-New/223764351790?hash=item3419650b2e:g:gdkAAOSwDs9d2hOF Good news for modern jets afficionados Hubert

When I was you g, I could not get enough of the « Buck Danny » comics. They told the story of a US Navy major and his two wingmen/mates. I derived a love for e erything Navy, and the Panthers / Cougars / vigilantes / Demons, etc ... The series still exist today, with more elaborate scenarii, and far better aircraft illustrations by a well-known French aviation artist, Francis Bergèse. The « Chevaliers du Ciel « comic series with the Mirage III C : heaven as well And I read Closterman’s « Le Grand Cirque », of course. I grew with the feeling that the Tempest was soooooo much better than the Spitfire because of this book, but it was not enough for me to build any of those as kits ... Hubert

Tamiya Mossie build resumed
HubertB replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Have you seen all the ejection pin marks ? Would not pass muster in an IPMS competition ... Hubert PS : if anyone does not know, those circles were in fact internal reinforcements of the wooden hull, to afix various instruments and equipments -

2nd Annual LSM Christmas raffle and winners list
HubertB replied to Clunkmeister's topic in General Discussion
OK. Here is my donation for the raffle : the rather nice Doyusaha A6M-2 in 1/32 ... ... with an additional twist inside the box, on top of the kit parts ... Yes, this is the Pascal Huguet "Rufe" conversion set ... Sorry for the blurred instructions in the first pic above, but you get the idea ... I love flying boats and floatplanes, but, let's face it, I will probably never tackle this one before my 300th birthday Hubert -
Fantastic project, Ron ! IIRC there was an article in an issue of Fine Scale Magazine, that did just what you are planning to do. A civilian, a floatplane, what’s not to love ? Hubert
-
Imagine what it could be like in polished aluminium, with a civilian livery and seats inside ... Come on, HpH, if you want to sell more of these, give us the civilian version. Hubert

2nd Annual LSM Christmas raffle and winners list
HubertB replied to Clunkmeister's topic in General Discussion
Just a confirmation. I’m in, giving and (possibly ) receiving. Hubert PS : still have to find the gift, but my stash is big enough ... -
Ron, I read your post about it, and it convinced me, if I needed any more convincing, that is ... Hubert

Got some Reskit wheels for some of my stash queens ... - The OV-10 - The P-51 I want to make as a racer ... The F-105 D got an addition to an-ever growing list of AM (until I find the resolve to tackle it and redo a correct windshield/canopy ) And finally, got myself an anticipated Christmas present This is the 2-in-1 set, with 2 needles and nozzles (0.15 and 0.4 mm) and two cups (2 and 5 ml). Did some fondling already : I understand why this brand is in such high praise. Everything oozes (German) quality Hubert
