I have a few 1/350 warships. One about 1/10th done. I'm held up because a cable became detached and it really gave me the shits. There is a point where I stop detailing. The eye can only see so much. Unless you get a hard-on from showing your work in macro photos... Just find that 'good enough' spot and move on. Gaz

Cool! I have a black barbecue apron that helps, too.

Zu schnell für Dich!! The Final Update 21/8/19
GazzaS replied to GazzaS's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
Hi again, Everybody... and those of you who exist on an ethereal plane.... Spent a lot of time yesterday working on the landing gear. After the first drying period, I discovered that the starboard wingtip sat 15mm higher than the port. After some wrestling and some knife work, I can report that both wingtip lights sit 57mm over the deck. IN addition to that I added the pilots step and landing gear covers. I don't know if all of the angles are correct... I was happy to get the wingtips level. From 80 gauge copper wire I made the landing gear indicators and I used .7mm brass tube and .5mm brass rod to fashion the pitot tube. My effort for this afternoon was limited to masking the exhaust stubs and spraying them with Alclad polished aluminum. I hope I can do a nice orange-to-blue burnt metal look to the stubs.... we'll see how it goes... Thanks for looking! Gaz -
Neat Work, Ryan!

Hopefully this will motivate you guys further... It'll probably dissuade me from doing another...lol It's gotten very smooth. I wants to slide off the jig. I have to grip either main wings or fuselage very firmly. Thanks fer looking! Gaz -

Wow! Cool looking aircraft. Looks like a Skyraider mated with a bullfrog. Can't wait to see it done! Gaz -
So many great shows around the world... but all so far away.

Until the thingamijig breaks but you're not certain whether it's that thingamajig or some other thingamjig that is broken. Then you gotta pay somebody to find and fix the correct thingmajig, but they always helpfully find some other thingamajig that needs fixing, rendering fixing only the first thingamajig pointless. Because in 2-3 months, you'll have to replace said thingamajig if you don't follow their suggestion. If I sell my 98' Hilux and buy a new one, I'll never be a back yard mechanic again. -
