  1. Frank, I really like how this is coming together. The paint already has a worn appearance, which is very cool! I too love a bit of fine paper rubbed over the paint. Gaz
  2. Holy moley! Love the weathering and the overall feel of the desert with the base. Gaz
  3. Splendid job, John!
  4. Brilliant work, Martin! I really like the heater you made. I hope your window comes out good. Gaz
  5. Ivan, That is some timely info as I'm up for another layer of paint. I had a paint problem earlier caused by using a paint that was too matte and therefor too grainy. And, the first time I painted the radome, the grey was too close to the fuselage color. Thanks! Gaz
  6. I always wondered how the energy blasts from the x-wing, which normally shoot straight managed to make that sharp turn down the tubes....
  7. The force is strong with this one!
  8. Dude, What do you use that coarse stuff on? The roughest I've used is 400, and then I regretted it because it scratched the plastic too much. I use 800-1500 for normal modelling.
  9. That is some sweet converting, Martin! Gaz!
  10. Ivan, Your Drakken looks spectacular.
  11. Well... I hadn't really made a decision until I read all of the answers and saw the photos you guys posted. Thank you! I think I can see enough in the above photo to clue me in. It's not that I hate placing deals. I hate silvering. And every decal presents a silvering opportunity. So, the surface has to be immaculately smooth. Any hint of porousness will eventually show. So... Thank you! Gaz
  12. Always glad to help! You'll have to do a build blog of the MiG-31.
  13. Too bad it's in a foreign language. I'd like to Czech it out!
  14. Interesting subject! Looking forward to seeing it come to fruition! Gaz
  15. Thanks for your input Rob. I have held the plastic of the AMK MiG-31 in my hands. You are cheating yourself of a truly awesome kit! Gaz
  16. Both IP's look great, Harv! Gaz
  17. This thing is gonna be massive! The most killer looking copter in the world, IMHO. Good work so far! Put away the Hurricane! Gaz
  18. It looks like an Mi-24 humped a Huey and nine months later: Boom Baby!
  19. Hello friends, Gonna be decaling a MiG soon. It's not exactly Large scale, but to me it's plenty large. The kit comes with like a thousand stencils. Besides the pretty red stars, and ID numbers, I'm wondering if any, especially the smaller ones, would be seen from 48 feet away. or even 32. What do you guys think? Gaz
  20. Well...good! This saves me buying the nachtjager one and gutting it to daytime A8 configuration. Gaz
  21. Thank you, Martin!
  22. Thank you Phil! But she's far from finished. I still get to weather her. Gaz
  23. Thanks Rob! The angle on the wheel... it's a bit of a sore spot. Unlike most models where a cylinder is inserted into a cylindrical shaft, the pegs on this kit are cones... not cylinders. So that means that they only meet on a narrow band. And, I'm ashamed to say that I wasn't able to get the angle I desired on the wheels. Though It looked right when I had it propped to dry, the end result is a bit off. Gaz
