  1. I just painted the interior of mine black... Due to the scale and complete lack of furnishings. I'm not using any clear plastic. Once painting and weathering is done I'm gambling that micro Crystal Clear will fullfill all of my glass needs.
  2. HI everyone, Got in the mood to do a bit today. So, I started populating the upper deck. Instead of endless masking or sloppy hand painting, I decided to do what I have heard the pros do: Paint it all nice, weather it, and then glue it on. So I put a bunch of those pieces on a board with blutack, and they await painting. The engine deck, and the after deck... with the not-quite-complete torpedoes. I've looked at the limited number of photos available... and not one engine deck looks like this... C'est la vie... These torpedo fins... No room to sand... Bah... more touch up required. The business ends...
  3. Now I'm really curious about how you will paint it.
  4. It's always good to take a break, Rob.
  5. Looks great, Scott! I feel your pain... about endless refilling and sanding.
  6. That looks great, Kevin! You are really cracking along.
  7. Those poses are looking great, Chris! I'm not looking forward to painting my 1/72 scale guys.
  8. From the latest historical pics, looks like you could have hand painted some of it.
  9. Ern, I really like these new colors. There's plenty of room to play with them.
  10. Very nice adaptation, JOHN.
  11. I saw a picture that showed some very shiny discs on the side of a torpedo being loaded onto a U-boat... I was tempted.
  12. Thanks. Home made. Brass foil discs punched from a sheet with segments of Evergreen rod between. All tiny enervating work for the big clumsy person. I've actually only built a handful or Airfix kits. Most when I was a kid... the big 1/24 109 and Spitfire.... and then more recently the 1/48 Stuka B1 and now this boat.
  13. With my mojo in the can, I went down the rabbithole today. The unmodified torpedo is pretty horrible. And the propeller is a single, feeble three bladed thing. I've replaced that with counter rotating 8-bladed props. And I've populated the previously empty warhead. The glue is still very soft. Tomorrow it will be hard enough for shaping and sanding.
  14. Nicely damaged, Guy. Poor 109. Cowl damage looks great.
  15. Peter, The Kingfisher looks awesome. There's alot to be said for the yellow-wing period. She's very nice to look at. Hopefully your dental surgery goes well. I'll be wishing some positive healthful energy your way.
  16. So Canadian... it even has a chimney.
  17. My mojo is feeling pretty low this week... hard to even imagine doing one at the moment. Can't even imagine making a hedgerow.
  18. I think this is the best I could do....
  19. Nice hatches!
  20. Looks great! You're smashing it!
  21. Saw this on Farcebook. Thought it was pretty cool. I know it's amoeba scale... but still.
  22. LA to Brisbane is 15 hours... imagine what you could get done. Not to mention the arterial thrombosis! But once you get here, you can see the Giant Pineapple.
  23. Welcome home! I think that brown is way too dark.
