  1. Really nice work on the engine Ryan. So hard to make black not look stark. Carl
  2. Thanks Rob! This one made it over the finish line. Although it took a couple tries on the weathering.
  3. I'll have to try that on my F-4
  4. Well at least you can store it with the wings off if needed. Beyond that, it looks fantastic. Carl
  5. Is that the Black Box cockpit? I've got one for the E in my stash. Either way, it looks good to me. The one in my CT-133, that needs some work.
  6. Well I asked my wife what she thought and she said we can entertain the idea. She's been to Vegas previously but much prefers the desert versus the strip so at least there's something for her. If thing don't change, I'm sure my boys will be happy to go with me to the show. They're always happy when they go to the LHS with me. Which would mean one day with family at the show and one day on my own. Carl
  7. That's crazy and not someone who should be in retail sales. I had the opposite happen at a Honda dealership once. They had a brand new Acura in the used department as they had closed their sister Acura dealership. It was a current model so out of curiosity I asked how much and was told $26K for a $33K car. I said "What?!! $26K are you kidding??!!!". The sales guy replies "Ok, $25K then!". I should have bought it. Carl
  8. Well, 2021 is my 50th so maybe I can work something out and go. Especially if it's near the beginning of the month when my birthday is. Never been to Vegas either so that's another reason. Carl
  9. Thanks Mike! As for finding a kit, Hobby Search has a couple different ones in stock. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/m/search?typ1_c=102&cat=&state=&sold=0&sortid=0&searchkey=Firefly&spage=1&Make=Asuka+Model
  10. Thanks for sharing the photos Ernie. Some very nice models there. Carl
  11. Great work on the gunsight as well as fitting the nose cowl. Carl
  12. Martin, I can't wait to see what you do with a Birdcage. I've done one so far and it's definitely my most weathered build ever. Took a bunch of trial and error to get something suitable.
  13. The Felixstowe is looking amazing there Tony!
  14. Quick weekend update. I masked off the wheel bays. At the same time, I did the tailpipe.
  15. Thanks Phil! I generally try not to give up on a kit unless it's well and truly pear shaped. Plus, if I feel that it's a bad enough flaw that I've paused on it, I've got nothing to lose by trying a re-do.
  16. Man, 600 square feet is more than half the size of our house!
  17. I'd love to get a set of those RP Tools punches. I've got the Waldron ones but hopefully I can upgrade in the future.
  18. They really are pretty impressive. Carl
  19. Nice comparison there Rick. Carl
  20. Great photos of some even better models. Thanks for sharing them everyone for those of us who couldn't be there. Carl
  21. Nice! I'll have to get the one with the big cannon to go with my Ju88P-1 and TSE TSE Mossie. Carl
  22. Thanks Tony! Like your Felixstowe, the redo was definitely worth it. Carl
  23. We built a new garage a couple years ago. My wife expressly forbade me from doing any hobbies in it. She said " it's a garage for the cars and not your new workshop". Since I have pretty much half the basement for my bench and stash, I thought that was fair enough.
  24. Thanks Martin! That's next to mask off and paint. Then I have to figure how to get the ejection seats in.
