  1. Some more work on the Dreadnoughts between watching the Thanksgiving turkey cook on the BBQ. A quick dry fit together along with the Andromeda. One goes on either side.
  2. Nice Galileo shuttle Scott. I can't recall if you have the 1/350 Enterprise to go with it or not. Be nice to see that built if you do.
  3. Glad to see you back at work on the Tiger. I like the wear that you've put into them. But I think they might be a bit bright. If you're on Britmodeler, there's always lots of talk about the colour of tracks, especially on German AFVs. Most German WWII track supposedly had a high manganese content so is more metallic brown than silver/grey.
  4. Great build. It's great to see the evolution of the same aircraft at different times in its lifespan.
  5. I've got the TruColor Have Glass paints in the stash. They do a few of them. Some are labelled F-22 Radar Dispersion grey and a couple are F-35 Dispersion Grey. I'll need to see what the differences are. I know some folks have used some of the tinted pearl coats that Mr Color have to get the shimmer effect.
  6. You don't see many of these getting built. I've got the same scheme for my Tamiya 1/48 kit.
  7. Sticker actually. You cut it to the width you need, slightly longer than the diameter and wrap it around. It's very thin and has a bit of stretch to it.
  8. I found the Molotov chrome to be easily marred and didn't dry well. For oleos, I use Hasegawa Mirror Finish. It's like Bare Metal but much tougher and high gloss.
  9. Some great work there Ron. I watched the Chieftain video you mentioned and saw how the crew got into the tank. Thanks for the recommendation.
  10. The Jag is 1/24. Hasegawa did the XJR-8 and XJR-9 in both Group C and IMSA spec. MFH has them in 1/24 and 1/12 but they're a bit more expensive. Oh, they have the correct markings as well. As for the censorship, Europe in the late '80s, issued a ban on tobacco marketing on toys and sadly, models were considered such. The ban then got expanded to the actual race cars in the mid '90s. Eventually it made its way to Canada and we lost the Players CART team and other events. Some teams though got creative with them: Ferrari did the Marlboro logo in a barcode on one of their F1 cars while on the McLaren F1 GTR, the Davidoff logo was changed from "Have a Davidoff" to "Have a Day Off". So it's not really a retcon.
  11. Nice kit Rob! I had the original release which came with the Silk Cut decals. It is a simple but the bodywork pretty much covers everything.so you can't see much.
  12. You're doing a great job of getting it to an expected level of detail.
  13. Shiny! Ok, gotta ask. I've heard of clay barring but not the iron whatsit so can you enlighten us mere mortals?
  14. Sharing makes the pain easier...maybe
  15. I lucked out. The two I have were gifts. One I won in the draw here from our esteemed Ernie and the other was from my boys.
  16. One nice thing about the Border Lancs is that they can be built with the outer half of the main wing removable. There's a natural break in the wing between the engines and Border has modeled it that way.
  17. I'm going to be using the glass from a pair of Ikea Detolf display cases we have in the living room at the moment. I did one a couple years ago that's 32" wide and 14" deep doing the same thing but the new one will be twice as deep. So this but twice as deep: Hopefully the new one will fit the Lanc as I've got 4 of them to go in plus a B-17 and B-24.
  18. Ron, my wife would probably do the same but not necessarily in that order.
  19. Peter, If Andy comes out with a VVSS Sherman in 1/16, I'll most likely get one of those. He's almost there with his Easy 8 Sherman and the VVSS suspension in the Achilles/M10 kits coming out. He just need to combine the two.
  20. Nice to see I'm not the only one running out of display space. I'm probably going to try and build a new display cabinet in the next few weeks before it gets too cold to do any woodworking. It's got to be big enough for a 4 engine heavy. Carl
  21. Peter, definitely lots of reading to come. The interesting part is the book set (there's 2 volumes) is labelled Volume 1. As for Shermans, I've got a couple in the stash but they're all British Firefly 17 pdrs.
  22. Got a new book in the mail. 11 lbs of reference
  23. The Mossie looks great Phil. I can't recall if you're going to leave it with the panels off or not?
  24. If anyone wants to see what else is coming out, Hobby Dengeki has a show summary. It's in Japanese but Google translate should help. https://hobby.dengeki.com/hobbyshow/
  25. The All Japan Hobby Show is on and Tamiya have shown their new F-35B in 1/48. It's not a re-box of the Italeri kit. In flight display option. My LHS has it up for pre-order for $135 CAD so probably around $100 USD.
