  7. I got some leg work done not much more guys the jabs to the spine went well today already feeling better will improve more in time.I had a chance this evening to plane some really really old wood and it was still rough cut at over a 100 years old.I have a buddy who has been commissioned to build the "Trojan" a three mast ship that visited Gulfport Harbor in 1902.The wood was for the base a no.1 grade Pine what is called pecky and some Cedar from a Catholic School in New Orleans that was built in 1890 just Beautiful such a tight tight grain and I may be able get some!? The ship just thought it might be of interest to some?
  8. Liking it Gazz coming along Nicely!
  9. Kinda like sanding, when I get to the point in some wood work music in the background and a sanding block in hand is a peaceful repertoire.
  10. I appreciate all the Nice comments like I said the crate kind of cried for some grime not great but acceptable ATTM.
  11. It's update time still got to gloss the legs and wheel doors along with some weathering. Now guys I normally do not weather much at all but being a Russkie crate figured it needed some it's all done with MIG powders which Do Not dilute with a clear on top!!!So I had to pull out the turpentine and wipe her down some lesson learned what you apply is what you see when finished really a good thing.I am thinking Tuesday will be the finish date that's the day I go in for those eight needles in the back been a couple of tough days of late
  12. How do you lay down your paint ?I mentioned before it looks like the technique of many individual dots and most of the paint jobs I like are in that method.I have tried it but it works the finger and hand for me.
  13. Keeps getting better and better!!
  14. A fella on another forum asked anything on the pilot? So using what they supplied with the kit the only other thing I found was that all the kills were against the FW-190. The pilot of White 15 was a LT Semyon Ivanovich Rogovol who accrue 5 victories in this plane all against the formidable FW-190.He was assigned to the 64Guards Fighter Regiment(GIAP),4 Guards Fighter Division (GIAD),2nd Baltic Front,Autumn 1944.The plane was presented to LT Rogovol by sailors of Amur River Flotilla in the Far East. I did a search of his career but the only little nugget I found was all the kills were FW-190's a well developed a/c in 1944/45. Now the idea worked brilliantly if I may add sliding over the Future and not the decal.Oh and what the camera finds trust me had reading glasses on and could not see the white in some you see Well onto the pics....the MG's well be tubing within tubing as well the pitot tube with one hydraulic line per leg.
  15. Thks Kai getting close found some pics of the gear already started the P-51 while the gloss was drying engine bay gets paint today. You guys build with patience and like pros I am a builder like a kid every now and then I will deep dive. Oh and the #15 is suppose to be @an angle per instructions if anyone is wondering.
  16. Thka Wolf then theirs those little hiccups the Persian Rug effect.
  17. Some pics with decals applied.I should of looked further into the plane in the area of of the exhaust but they need to protrude a little more like 1/32-1/16" I filed with a medal file some on one side to no avail but it needed more. The exhaust sat back from the inside just a little but I could not get closer without feeling I might ruin something The decals have another few coats of future on them now this needs to dry I have silver stars that go over the stars for this crate and they did not play well last night sliding around hint the gloss now slide on that.
  18. That's some sharp work as usual Wolf man I wish I had that kind of patience.Don't stop!
  19. Not sure about the blue some chips showed a darker blue than what is in DocRob's pic and contemplated before I decided on this blue going RLM78 but the chips were a little darker maybe not this dark?I for the second time used blue tac and once again not satisfied with the results the edges were sometimes not dark enough in spots and the tac left like a grease line in the paint in a couple of areas.I had to go back by freehand and redo every single Dk.Gull grey line and some of the Light Ghost Grey for the grease line.I should have just freehand the plane my usual method. She is glossed with future give it a day or two before I come back. Added Russian Blue chip for reference from IPMS http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=25466
  20. NUTS!! You Sir are an Artist!
  21. don't know if I agree with the prop color and yellow tips?
  22. Actually Peter the quality of the clear pieces in the kit are very very high even without the dip very clear.I need to show a side view later it has a unique shape like any other a/c.
