This is becoming one of the biggest events for antique cars in the USA.The event plays out much like a week long Mardi Gras parade would now today is day one of the event this year and they were hoping to get 10K per-registered much less those that just show up!The roads and sides of the streets are still bare some but by Tuesday it will be full. The pics I have tonight is just to convey the atmosphere of the event I also have the local sponsors website. Welcome to America’s Largest Block Party. Cruisin’ The Coast® began in 1996 as a festival to celebrate antique, classic and hot rod vehicles, nostalgic music and related events. 374 vehicles registered that first year and in 2017 we had 8,308 registered vehicles. Car enthusiasts from 40 states plus Canada, Germany and Puerto Rico arrive on the Mississippi Gulf Coast once a year to showcase their rides and to cruise our beautiful 30-mile stretch of beach-side highway with designated stops in Bay St. Louis, Biloxi, D’Iberville, Gulfport, Pass Christian, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula. Each venue is set up as a mini festival with a stage for live bands, reserved parking for registered cruisers, spectator parking, and vendors for food and event merchandise. Registered cruisers will receive an ID card in their registration packets to exhibit all week in their car’s front window; this ID allows entry into the venues where reserved parking is available. A program with maps will also be part of the registration packet so cruisers can plan their individual schedules as this is an open cruise – events are scheduled and you decide which ones you are interested in attending. Our week long event includes cruise-ins, a Salute To Our Veterans event, car auction, swap meet, car corral, and a parade. Spectators are welcome and will find that our cruisers love to talk “old cars.” https://cruisinthecoast.com/

I do not know about the carriers but the still looks possibly a Heavy Cruiser with the short SS and I see atleast two guns up front. It's the five turret set up Mogami class https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mogami-class_cruiser -

That's a Hase with the Verlinden kit added probably built faster than the ZM with less headaches and cheaper. That was the days I enjoyed all that still do some but just to many kits unbuilt. -

This one is finished and ready for the show.I went a very light rust for a ship probably could of gone lighter seeing I did nothing with the deck area but it was to be a clean build but once men hit the decks that changed. FYI when I over did the rust I used those rubber brushes to remove it it worked frigg'in excellent!! -
That sounds good Ernie I was going to say some abusive stuff about some members Peter ,Rob,Gary.Carl ........but figure I just lay back.I still like to play like I am still 20 sometimes life is to short not to have some fun.
