  1. Very nice, Fran, thanks for posting. I tend to default to Eduard's masks but am not always happy with the results. Thanks for bringing ASK to top of mind.
  2. Dave looking really good! Good luck with the 3D printed parts. Looking forward to seeing your build at it progresses.
  3. Really looking good Peter. I can't see where you might have had the problem with spilled thinner. What was the problem and more importantly, what was the advice John offered? I've done EXACTLY the same thing - knocking over a container of thinner (in the interest of full disclosure, this evening as I was clear coating my B-58 I sprayed some thinner almost up my nose - don't ask!). I've had the same issue with the Quinta seat pads - just too thin. You have the most experience of anyone here with the Quinta sets, I think. Disappointed that you are not happy with the new seatbelts. They do look good in your pictures.
  4. A rocket-powered launch for an F-104??? I can't decide if that is cool or crazy!
  5. Thanks for posting!
  6. Winnie, thanks and good to know. Not sure how detailed my friend is when it comes to the specifics. Good luck on finishing your build.
  7. Ha!! Scott, excellent question. So of course, the first thing I did was to search for pics of the plane in flight. Nope, I don't think they are drooping...
  8. A friend collects 1/72 die cast models but apparently has not been able to find a 1/72 B-52. I see Italeri (AMT) and ModelCollect both do models in this scale. The ModelCollect kit did not get good review from Brett Green, while the Italeri/AMT seems to be ok, but is missing the classic B-52 wing droop. Anyone have any experience with either kit, or others that I may have missed? This would be an 'in-flight' display bird. Thanks, Chris
  9. Looks nice and tidy!!
  10. Really nice job!! I think I had that kit YEARS ago and ended up giving it away in a holiday raffle. Very happy to see the progess you've made. All that nose weight is something. Wow...
  11. I like it!! It'll be interesting!!!
  12. Wow. Interesting! Thanks for posting.
  13. Ditto. I like my D7200 and small cache of lenses.
  14. Carl, that is a beauty!! Looks amazing and the sharksmouth is perfect for this aircraft. The cockpit is fantastic. I've done the same thing - put something away for safe keeping, then forget where I put it. At least you found it in time!
  15. I also don't buy with the idea of investment. But I did buy a few of the WNW kits early on as at one point I really did think I was going to build them. But then it got to the point where I really didn't have THAT much interest in such detailed kits, and the premium I was able to get - even selling below market to other members - made the decision to sell pretty easy. I still have the Eduard Royal Class FW-109A-8/R2 which is up to $175 on EBay. But this one I want to build one day...
  16. This is such sad new.
  17. Beautiful blue on the bird, John! Super clean.
  18. Brad, Nice work on that missile and your efforts with the Mr Surfacer shines - beautiful paint job!
  19. Beautiful work on that landing gear, Mike. WAY beyond my capabilities! Nice job on the wing as well. I definitely like white-basing top get variability. You do the most interesting builds!!
  20. Camo has been sprayed so taking the opportunity to do some decaling. Might rethink the blue and do a Dark Brown spray over the light blue... ....hmmm Here is what comes off of the kit decals. Painted the bombs white and then stole the Sidewinder decals from the 1/32 Tamiya F-4EJ kit just to get some markings on the bombs. Completely inaccurate, but oh well! Still need to paint the noses black. Here is the camo pattern. Some decaling... And what is a bomber without nose art? From the 1/48 B-26 Pyn-up set by Meteor Productions (Bought new in 2004!!!!!). Still some filler needed on the side windows. Might not be as hard as I thought to cover the light blue with Dark Brown... Will look at that this weekend.
  21. Thanks Carl! OMG yes, I'm going through paint like babies go through diapers. But I must say the MRP really does have good coverage. It is just this subject is so bloody large. I'm cheating a bit in using Vallejo Black Primer for the black parts and that is saving a ton. Ditto using the Vallejo White Primer. It is a BIG bird when its done, and even with the front cockpit hatch open, there is not a lot to see. So unless you want to work in NMF on a very large aircraft (and I'm also looking at the 1/48 B-29 sitting in my closet..) There is not a lot of interesting stuff you can do with it. IMHO... I'm with you, Dennis. It doesn't look like ANYTHING else... I hope I can do it justice. Whoa, I see on Ebay where the 1/48 Caracal decals are going for $100. Not sure I would trust decals that old. Wait till you see what is coming off the kit decals!! RE: Project Bullseye - I wish I had seen that Camo pattern as I like it better than the one I'm doing right now. But Not enough to redo everything or get another kit!!!
  22. Completely agree. It would stand out like a sore thumb in the desert. But looks cool anyway. 👍
  23. I'm most impressed with how realistic that hand is in the photographs! Must be 3D printed or a super accurate resin cast it is so life-like....
  24. Good choices, both, Peter. Interesting...
