Great looking build of a much maligned kit Tom. Hadn't realised that was how the bomb bay doors opened until I saw your build.

I'm building a diorama (I hope) with the Bronco A34 Comet and I'm going to use the Miniart British Tank Riders for the infantry. Would that be okay to post here given that it's only a constituent part of a bigger build?

Just brilliant work Oliver. Even your 'rush jobs' look way better than my best efforts.

RN FG-1 Phantom 1/32 scratch conversion

Very neat Cees and as you say it will minimise the amount of filler. I'm starting to lose hope of the promised Spey Phantoms so I may have to resort to this if I ever want to build one of the 111 Squadron birds I used to watch at Leuchars back in the 70s and 80s.- 76 replies

Modeling bench ideas and input UPDATE! It’s done.
GusMac replied to ScottsGT's topic in Modelling Discussion
Wow, find that amazing Ernie, that there are no natural lakes in an area as big as Texas. Over here in Scotland you can't go more than a few miles without falling in a loch. The stat that always amuses me is that Loch Ness contains more freshwater than all the lakes, etc in England combined. No wonder there's so much space for Nessie to hide in! -
Our Jack Russells would be trying to chew yer leg off if you carried them like that!

Nice idea to use the 'spare' pieces from the FGR-2 Cees. Fit looks very good, so not too much filler required.- 76 replies

Not sure whether I should have used the confused or sad emoticon for that one!

I still love the old X22 as well Mark. -
Don't tell everyone that John. My work is bad enough at the lower resolution.... not sure I want people seeing the flaws even more clearly! 😄😉 Mustangs looking sweet though.

Hi Carl, it's a nice kit and goes together well with options for all the main variants. A few injector pins but they are generally hidden once the parts are assembled. l quite like the plastic they use as well as it is hard but not brittle so cleans up nicely. l'd definitely recommend it. l got it off eBay for €30 so not a big hit to the wallet either. -

Got some bench time amongst family issues so got the Bronco Comet stuck together. Using the Aber barrel which is a big improvement. The click together tracks went together nicely although the instructions say you need 108 links each side but I reckon you only need 103?! Picture was taken this afternoon and everything is now primed with Mr Surfacer 1500 in grey. Still waiting for the Mantis Miniatures hessian netting and PanzerArt storage so I have something for the infantry to sit on! -
Glad to hear you're well Mark. Enjoy the vacation, sounds like you need it.
-
Their tools are pricey but definitely worth it. The sprue cutters I got a while back are just so neat and leave a cut that needs hardly any clean up.

That second last pic looks like it might be hard to replicate Martin. 😄

Some crackers there Martin. The dogs and doorbells one certainly rings true in our house. Or other dogs in TV shows works as well.

That one makes me think of the famous Billy Connolly joke from his first appearance on Parkinson. 😄

I've read all of Neil Peart's books about cycling and motorcycling around Canada and he always makes that exact point. We haven't even had a particularly bad winter this year but they just seem to be cheaping out on the repairs, so everything falls apart quicker than ever.

Thanks for the compliment. Don't think it matters what hobby you have, there are always some who just seem to have other-worldly skills and Oliver it certainly one of those. -
I've gone tubeless on my road bike and it's so much less hassle as Carl says. Bloody hard work pumping them up but pretty robust. We're lucky to have lots of quiet country roads round us to go out on but the flip side to that is that they aren't well maintained so lots of huuuuge potholes at the moment.

Thanks Peter. Almost feel ashamed posting it when we can all see the work Oliver is doing on his Wessex! 😄 -
Looks great, especially the detail on the sidewall
-
The detail in that seat is amazing Carl. Looks so good under paint. 14 hrs is a helluva drive. Toronto to Wisconsin doesn't look too far on a map from here but 14 hrs would get me to northern France including the ferry crossing!
