Thank you both for your feedback.

Today I managed to complete the front wheelbay including the weathering of the front landing gear.

Weathering was done with oil colors as usual.

Final test: Taxilight still working 🥲!

The complete assembly will receive a coat of flat varnish next and the I can start to assemble the complete nose section.

Nice detailing on the undercarriage Kai. The light makes it look very special. I used Bare Metal chrome foil sometimes on earlier builds and changed now to Molotow chrome markers. The one with a 2mm tip let the color flow onto the part and looks even more chrome than BMF and it's far easier to apply.

Cheers Rob

Kai

Front gear looks so nicely detailed and the LED light is awesome.

I'm going to give the Molotow 2mm chrome marker a try myself. I've struggled with Bare Metal Foil and normally use Alclad Chrome over gloss black and then mask. Way too much work for such a small detail.

Thank you all for your feedback. I was grounded by Corona in the last 2 weeks but now I’m fine again.

Thanks for the tipp with the Molotow-pens Rob. I already have them and up to now only used them for smaller hydraulic actuators.

But I will try them when assembling the main gear.

Hello again! After a pause I’m back at the bench and have an update of my progress on the build.
I closed the fuselage and installed more of the lights to the various components:

Tail-light and beacon on upper fuselage in action. RAF beacons are white (and not red like on GAF Tornados).

Next will be the position lights on the intakes and then I move on to the main landing gear.

Update to follow soon…

Very cool build with the lighting Kai. It is always a demanding task, to add lighting to a kit and prevent stray light and the usual installation probs. Seems to work out well with your build. I added lighting to kit only once, but it enhanced the appearance of the build a lot.

Cheers Rob

I was able to make some progress today:

I completed the wings. Slats and Flaps will be shown extended. Flaps are only attached with tape to protect the protruding parts of the wings from breaking off again (which some of them already did during assembly…).

I also completed the tailerons and attached the position-lights to the intakes. I grinded cable-channels to hide them as far as possible. The red and blue color will be added to them later.

Last thing I did today was adding 60 (!) gramms of weight to the nose as shown in the instructions.

Next will be the main landing gear.

More great progress, Kai!  It's interesting to see all of the interior plumbing you have added.  electronics are so beyond me.  I can wire stuff together...   but don;t really understand how to use a circuit board like you're using.

Love the progress you do on this one.

I love the tornado its still on the wish list.

But if i build one i go for the ecr version.

Keep up the good work

Mark

Thank you Mark! I have the ECR already in my stash. It has interesting tiger-meet markings included. Will be a good choice to get one.
