Sorry for your decal woes but…

masks or HGW wet transfers for main markings; HGW will also cover you for wet transfer stencils

i would only consider decals when there is absolutely no alternative

I'm with you on that one, painted on markings and HGW wet decals for me, even though they both can go wrong at times.

Cheers

Dennis

Honestly...   I hate Trumpeter.  I can't even see a blemish on your last pic.

Thanks Gaz, only trouble is once you know it’s there …….I must admit this maybe my last Trumpeter as well, I tried their AFV and wasn’t impressed either….

Sorry to hear about your decal probs Phil. Weathering might enhance the issue, setteling in the cracks. I believe, 1ManArmy has a set of masks for markings AND stencils in their portfolio.

Cheers Rob

Thanks Rob, I was thinking the same, any colour other than white will make it standout. I need to look into stencils…..thanks for the recommendation…

Thanks, I definitely going to look into stencils, as for this Wildcat, I’m going to live with the blemishes and finish it up………it’s either that or the SOD and I have two 32nd’s languishing there already………

Thanks Peter, there are a lot of curves for it adhere to…….this is the outcome, this is the worst one…….the other side even though it was in three parts has aligned almost perfectly……..not sure what to do now, perhaps something weathering may hit it back…..

Phil it looks good to me but I am mostly mediocre on most of my builds quantity over quality I guess :)

So during the working week I average about 20 minutes benchtime each evening, therefore the Wildcat is creeping towards the finish line, slowly……..

I take 20mins just to remember where I left off lol

Looking so good and even short work sessions are better then known. MY problem is not knowing where I left off from the previous work session but where I just put down the part, I'm working on ... loads of senior moments

Thanks Peter, much appreciated, I try and make sure the bench is tidy and any parts being worked on are placed in glass / plastic trays when finishing up a session …..try is the idea…….as I’ve said I have made some real howlers when grabbing brief time…….

Phil

I'm with you and spend time at the end of each session cleaning and straightening up. I just feel better when it's time to hit the bench running, that almost everything is neat, clean and in its place. My big 'wall' is putting a part down and then in the next minute or so, I can't find it - loads of senior moments these days.

Phil,

That looks great!  All of those micro sessions pay off.  On my workdays, I'm usually too tired to even think about models.

Thanks Gaz, it can be frustrating though, so have plan building with one eye on the clock……..
