So, IS the new Airfix Spitfire lXc worth it?

Recommended Posts

So far, there are two WIP's out there, Ernie. Best way to evaluate a kit I guess. I never build a Spitfire and have only 1/48 Eduards in stash and may help myself to one of these. That counts as a maybe with a strong 'yes' bias.

Cheers Rob

I think it's worth it at that price. It's similar here in Canada.

The reason I haven't picked up one yet is the scale. I don't have anything else in that that scale so it'll stick out. I have thought that if I get one, I'd do it opened up and highlighting the internal detail.

For me, if it had been a XIV, I'd have been first in line at the LHS for one.

I have both Typhoons and the Hellcat, so maybe the Spitty as well?  I keep thinking that my eyesight WILL get worse, eventually.
Plys, most 1/32 kits are a bunch more expensive than that Spitfire.

Well Hubert, I kinda avoid overrepresented subjects.......but, despite being an armor

modeler, I must say that this kit looks increasingly tempting to me....I like

BIG! Will I give in?....Yes, probably! My decreasing eye sight and the frequency that I drop things makes large scale a positive boon!

Yes. Absolutely.

Not moulded in that shitty, soft and soapy plastic any more. The sprues don't even look like typical Airfix ones and the detail is outstanding. I believe they are now moulded in the UK and not that crappy place they were using in India.
