This is my first foray into an older Revell kit and was surprised to see how far their instructions have come in thier newer kits. Cool. I’ll sit down with the instructions tomorrow sometime and PM you. I will say, there is no rhyme or reason for their sprue numbering of parts. An assembly might require parts 87, 88, 89 & 90. None of them might be close on the same sprue and I can almost guarantee they will be on three different sprues. And the sprues are not lettered like Tamiya does. You’ll spend a lot of time parts searching.

I have a bunch of Master's M1919 barrels in 35th and some M6 37mm barrels of theirs. It's amazing that such small things can be machined so nicely!
belugawhaleman
Today a couple of items. A much needed spray can of Mr. Surfacer Black 1500. Also, another set of Friulmodel tracks. These I'll use for my Tamiya Hummel.

BlrwestSiR
My sister made a last minute trip from Chicago to visit so she brought the Christmas raffle prize I won from @Peterpools that I had Peter send to her to save on postage. Thanks Peter and thanks to my sis for her understanding.

This is the result, the Micro Cup for CR Plus is great for a thimble full of paint required. AK are now producing refill tins of cement, 200ml ata hell of a sight cheaper than a bottle. Last but not least the Arma Hobby Hurricane, the mouldings are stunning, hopefully they will follow as they did from 72nd to 48th to 32nd…….this is my very first Hurricane……….also the stash is now closed, reached the magic 20 mark………also more Dspiae tools, they have spent a lot of design time to craft their range…. Phil Nice 'haul' for sure. Looking forward to the Arma Hurricane future build and seeing AK now sells their Extra Thin in a can at a reasonable price, wow - sure wish Tamiya would do the same.

Scott Completely agree, Revell just seems to put parts everywhere on their sprues, not in numerical order and it's always a hunt to find them.

belugawhaleman
Some items today..... First; From Tamiya, it's their Matilda Mk.III/IV British Infantry Tank Mk.IIA* (35300) in 1/35. This is one of two new Matilda tank kits released in the 2000's. This kit features a choice of link & length or rubber band tracks and some very nice figures. The Soviet lend lease version has workable tracks and some details unique to that version. Next; from Amusing Hobby, it's their France Heavy Tank AMX-50(B) (35A049) in 1/35. Another French dead-end tank. Despite several years of development, this tank was never adopted. There's only one in existence now sitting in the SAMUR museum in France. The photos seem to show this thing painted in Blueish gray....at least to my eyes. The ARL-44 sitting next to it, I'm not sure sometimes it looks blue gray, sometimes green to me depending on the lighting in the picture. The kit paint scheme is fake. Anyway, the kit shows that it is well-molded, with surprisingly, the return roller supports and hull molded in one piece! Never seen that before. Last some decals from STAR DECALS; their 16-D 1005 PzKpfw 1 Ausf A. These include markings for German, Croatian, and Spanish Panzer 1a tanks in 1/16 scale. I bought these to replace a set that somehow, I lost. Buried again..
BlrwestSiR
Paul, that AMX-50 looks like an AMX-13 the took growth hormones. The Matilda is a nice kit. I built it when it first came out. Doing the Caunter scheme is a fun bunch of masking. I think the instructions say to do some of it before you put the sponsons on. Thanks, I'm probably going to do the other scheme ...earth and dark brown. I also have the Russian version; both nice kits. Yes, while the '13 is not a bad-looking tank, the '50b is like a bloated offspring of the '13. French military weirdness at its best!

Martinnfb
"When I grow up , I want to be a Panther", said little AMX-13. , the pedigree is way to prominent. I would totally go with a what-if German scheme

I would totally go with a what-if German scheme Perhaps, or one of those colorfully absurd French pre-war schemes...that is, if not for this kit the earlier ARL-44 I bought.
