"When I grow up , I want to be a Panther", said little AMX-13. , the pedigree is way to prominent. I would totally go with a what-if German scheme :)

The 50 experimented the turret design later used on the 13.  The 1945 brief was to have a tank with at least the gun power of the Tiger, the armour of the Panther, and the mobility of the T-34 …

The result was too heavy, and as the US, who were funding the project, wanted both France and Germany to buy and use it, when Germany wanted a lighter, more mobile unit, in line with Guderian’s doctrine, so it remained a project …

The 13 was developed on a later brief, for a light, aeromobile, tank. It was far more successful, as we all know :)

So both your comments are more than apt in this case …

In any case, this thing screams German engineering all over it,  and yes I heard of wikipedia before.

Yes, the Engines were the same as the ARl-44, Maybach, but were "improved".

The Germans did help with some of the design, I read, and were probably

not proud of that!

Some kits arrived after a long trip from Japan, the packet including my eagerly awaited Infini 0,135 mm flexible rigging line.

A Tamiya P-47, for which I have to wait for a special decal set. Would be the perfect in between build.

I like the Cosmo and the resin figure is way too cool, to let it pass. I´ve never seen the Japanese TV show, but anyway...

Last but not leas, my first Dinosaur kit from X-Plus in 1/35. Do I hear ´build a weird dio´?

Like that Mazda Cosmo. Interesting diorama possibilities with that Dino...

Perhaps a AmX-50b tackling a dino.....both extinct.

Glad your rigging arrived for your WNW GB build. Tat quite a unique collection of kits but my eye was on the Tamiya P-47 Razorback Jug.

Carl met with Andy at Heritagecon and picked up this baby for me. Ideal adept for twin GB.  Thanks Carl. :)

this type has interesting history. Not just a paper project, Soviets test flew prototypes after the war.

My wife returned yesterday from her Berlin trip and brought back some goodies for me.
You wouldn´t think it special, but where I life, it´s nearly impossible to get Tamiya cement anymore. It´s in 40ml jars and only 30 ml are allowed to be shipped internationally, so I´m glad these will last for a while now. I added some Tamiya lacquer flat and semi flat clears - and-
The Proxxon foot pedal. It´s pure genius, if you often use your Proxxon for drilling, polishing or routing. Have you ever experienced, drilling a 0,5 mm hole and finding the right spot with the rotating drill bit. Not anymore, set it in place and tap, why haven´t I seen this before.

Lots of polishing bits for my Model Factory Hiro´s white metal preparation. Yes, it´s plural, there will not only my Crocker motorcycle from MFH, but another one is on it´s way.
Some thin copper wire for producing my own eyelets and other causes and finally some Gaspatch resin eyelets, where I hope they take the strain of fishing line riggging. The metal ones were nearly completely spent on the WNW AEG lately.

Great haul Rob. As for the foot pedal, it’s the second best addition to my bench after the ubiquitous DSPIAE guillotine chopper (unless you have three hands, in which case the foot pedal is not that useful ;) )

Some additional items - RedFox IP etc for the Hornet looks amazing, also another Dspiae tool, a double ended chisel / broach.  Also the stash is now completely out of control, I’ve hit  a total 21 😬😬- This is my first IBG kit out of Poland, looks well moulded and for such a small AFV the part count is pretty large……..

My second Model Factory Hiro kit arrived today. It´s the 1/12 Cobra Coupe, which won Le Mans as the first American car. Only six were build. I´m looking forward to tackle this piece of muscle.
Again, no customs need to be paid for whatever reason and the pricing from Hiro direct from Japan is very reasonable and shipping is ultra fast.

Now I'm really jealous. I've got the Gunze 1/24 kit but it doesn't compare to that.

'm right with Carl, total jealousy.

Please after your GB WNW build, clear your bench and dive into the Cobra Coupe.

Wait with your jealousy, until it´s started. The build will be a challenge I guess. Many new things to learn, specially how to work with white metal best. Speaking of, I still try to find a way to get a magnetic tumbler polisher to my island, but no cookies. Seems to be a bigger problem, as I want to use it for cleaning and refining the white metal parts.
I hope, I will start my MFH builds very soon, but the Cobra Coupe will not be the first. It´s either the Crocker motorcycle or another one.

Cheers Rob

A few items......

From ICM, their; Laffley V15T WW II French AtilleryTowing Vehicle (35570). O.k., so you need a small vehicle to pull a 25mm. anti-tank gun..don't make it simple and reliable like a US jeep. No, use an

unnecessarily complicated vehicle with swing axle assemblies at each

corner, a big transfer case in the center with four drive-shafts coming out

of it to each swing-axle, no differential to the front wheels..just two levers

to disconnect whatever front wheel depending on which way you turn, and

last.. Connect the two rear wheels with an oscillating beam with quarter elliptic springs on each side! Anyway, this little beast has a sort of charm

with its overhanging hood and four auxiliary wheels. Oh, and btw, let's

put the muffler and exhaust outlet at the front of the vehicle.

Next, I found some working tracks for my AMX-50b tank.

They're by ET Model (P35-040) and are 3d printed resin. A nice feature is that the connector wires are pre-cut, a real time saver. They look great!

Last, Is from HobbyMio ; It's a paint shaker that's built like a tank!

Made of anodized aluminum, its solid, and silent running. It comes with a

power pack, four rubber straps, and double-sided tape to hold it down.

It does need to be held down, otherwise it will rattle on your bench. The unit

has two threaded holes in the bottom that can be used to secure it....or the

tape. Anyway it looks and works pretty good.
