Not sure if I’m a genius or just a modeling hack.  But I just went and bought this at Harbor Freight.

why you ask?  Because there’s not one straight line for my eyes to reference to so my decals don’t look like a crosseyed fool put them on.

Martin

Absolutely perfect for getting decals on in a straight line and I'm sure there are loads of modeling uses as well. Perfect and thanks for posting.

Late last year I contacted a vendor on eBay whom I had previously purchased a set of resin rims and tires for a 1/12 Porsche. I asked if he could do some rims for my 1/12 Countach and he agreed. At the same time I asked about replacement tires for my Tamiya  1/12 McLaren MP4/6. The originals were badly deformed from age and I was just going to build it without. He had a set of slicks for the other F1 cars in that scale but didn't have an MP4/6 for use as a template so I sent my rims to him.

Today, I got a package full of rims and tires.

The Countach rims along with a new set for the Ford GT40 which I also sent along at his request.

The new MP4/6 tires. The black rims are the kit ones I sent him. He made resin versions as well as a rain tire version and sent me those too.

You can see the tread pattern here compared to the slick.

Here's what my kit tires look like after 31 years.

Needless to say I'm thrilled by this and now I can consider getting my longest running kit build finally done. Maybe.

Wow!  What a difference.  Kit tires would have been good to build a South Carolina yard art car with deflated and dry rotted tires.
Speaking of SC yard art, I must live in a high end area because one neighbors yard art is an old Porsche 944 with weeds growing up around it.

Incredible, and when you least expect it, good fortunes just shines through. The tires and wheels look fantastic.

Thye oldest kit in my display case is a 1/32 Trumpeter F8F Bearcat with rubber tires. Being small in size as compared to your 1/12 F1 tires, they look to be in perfect condition. 🤞

We had to stop by the LHS for Edward to get some stuff for a school project. While there I saw a case of Bandai Tie Inceptors. Having wanted one for a while, I grabbed one.

I was so excited by this I forgot to pick up my MDC Typhoon that I had bought. Guess I'll have to go back again.

That Tamiya’s Betty I always wanted. Good catch Paul.

Thanks

I saw a documentary about how Israel got their first Tanks recently and the H39 was

featured. A great idea for the markings!

Jagdpanther are always a great one to build. My favourite variant of the Panther family.

I actually never built one. Maybe I should finish it in proper marking instead of fooling around with what-if IDF scheme.

For the price, it was hard to pass up.

And something to help with sanding on the F-15J build.

Definitely, I was using a glorified electric toothbrush for sanding the intakes on the F-15 when I decided to bite the bullet and get one.

Those David Union sanders work great!

That's great to know. I'm looking forward to using it.
