Administrators James H Posted March 16, 2015 Administrators Posted March 16, 2015 Lovin' it. That shade in the bomb bay looks perfect. I hope you haven't glued those oil tanks yet
wackyracer Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Paintwork from the top draw Sir. This and Jims Mosi are just stunning.
Wingco57 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Really like those Merlins, I thought at first that they looked chunky on the sprue, but it looks the part.Cees
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted March 22, 2015 Author Administrators Posted March 22, 2015 Been busy reviewing but did manage to get some work done on the Mossie. Tailwheel is done: Bought some proper mesh for the anti icing intake cover (right Cees?): 6
Administrators James H Posted March 22, 2015 Administrators Posted March 22, 2015 You're motoring! From here, the build goes very quickly. Superb work as always. Those bays are sublime. 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted April 6, 2015 Author Administrators Posted April 6, 2015 Been a bit busy with work, but managed to get one or two things done. In the meanwhile Jim sent me his spare set of Miracle masks: Started masking the traditional ay with cut tape. Bleh! Too much work. Tried Vallejo fluid mask and it works like a dream. Flows along the frames. Here's where I'm at: 5
colt6 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 WOW Jeroen, Love your metal parts, they looks so real!!! Arno 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted April 6, 2015 Author Administrators Posted April 6, 2015 Here's some more heavy metal! And the ProfiModeller Pitot tube in place: 4
Wingco57 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Very nice. But I would hold back on weathering the cookie. These were newly produced. Cees 1
Administrators James H Posted April 6, 2015 Administrators Posted April 6, 2015 I think you piqued me at just about every stage with this. Such a great looking build so far, but you should have spent 4 hours with masking tape on those canopies. You've just cheated! 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted April 7, 2015 Author Administrators Posted April 7, 2015 Cheers guys, Here's some more work on the Cookie. Sorry for scratching it Cees! I'm just a bit clumsy Sprayed the colored lines. Needs some washes and details still. 3
Administrators Fran Posted April 7, 2015 Administrators Posted April 7, 2015 Fantastic JP!! Great great work!!
nmayhew Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 wonderful looking build Jeroen am very interested in the masking fluid presumably it needs rather prominent ridges in the canopy frame to work - do you think it would struggle on say a Tamiya Spitfire canopy / something where the demarcation is very subtle like the cookie (everyone loves cookies don't they?!) 1

Hi Nick, I have various kinds of liquid mask. The one i used here is the most thin. The mossie canopy has VERY thin and fine panel lines and raisings. Still it tends to flow capular along the edges. Let me spray and check for the final result, but if this works, I'm never going to cut a mask or use pre cut.... 1
