Finally decided on what to do next. I had started work on this Hasegawa Hellcat a while back and, for some reason, decided to back-burner it. Now I think I will finish it. Here's the a/c I plan to do. I'm sure the situation had a high pucker factor for the pilot!

Gota love it: a Gem from the Iron Works gang. will be following with HUGE interest and enthusiasm, as Grummans is near and dear - I grew up 15 minutes from the Bethpage plant. Glad to see you're also planning on the Airfix 24th F6F Cat and I'll be joining you fr sure.

Keep 'em comin

I had to step away for a bit as trying to get the windscreen to fit was giving ME fits. Now I'm back at it and I'm not going to let this frigger beat me LOL. :)

That old pic give me the shivers. What happened? Drop tank let go and burst?  Whatever happened, except for tires (tyres) and his Fruit-of-the-Looms, it looks like there wasn’t much for damage.

Im looking to see this one done, John. Just in time for the big Airfix.

My guess is a hard landing that jarred the tank loose. The pilot was lucky that day but was lost in combat later on.

wow, this was scorching fast speed John. I just can't understand how fast you can produce such a level of quality. Fantastic! I run out of likes for today, but here is one for all :)

Thanks guys. Martin, I had started this build a year or so ago and decided to back-burner it for a while. It was well along when I re-started work on it. :)

You're amazing!

Beautiful work on the hellcat.

Keep 'em comin

Thanks Peter. Decaling is finished so now it's on to adding some weathering (mostly exhaust stains). Coming along fine. :)

With your speed of building my not very shallow stash would dry out fast. Great to see, that you don't sacrifice quality for quantity. Are you going to rebuild that scene as a dio?

Cheers Rob

Thanks Rob. It sure would make a neat dio but I don't plan to do that. :)
