Priceless material, thank you Johann. Information like this is worth of gold. :unworthy:

Great info! Thank you!

I am learning that there were many variations on these, so far, i found at least six variations on passenger cabin windows (bubble, round, square, rectangle, and combinations), and a few variations on seating layout too (6 to 18). The few pictures I found don't match the drawing exactly, but they used this helicopter so long, the variations are too many to count.

More work done, I have actually been plugging away, I had to cut 6 pieces of plastic for each seat. For a total of 11 seats, that’s about 60 pieces of plastic all hand cut, each piece sanded, and then glued together. It’s taken me about 10 days to knock them all out. I had to build a couple of jigs to keep the angles proper, a few improvised tools to line up all the seats, and even the use of a miscalibrated eyeball. But, I’m finally done.

Nice and comfy, I have to second Gaz, these seats look great, hopefully you can see enough of that fine work through the doors and windows. The seats seem to be very narrow, but the legroom looks greater than in a Ryanair bird.

Cheers Rob

I tried to make the seats as scale as possible, the 1/35 figure I have in the seat, is actually sitting at an angle (as he was designed to sit to one side). I originally made the seats with 10mm wide, but had to step up to 12mm when I saw the figures were a tight fit.

It took me several tries, but I think I figured out how to get the windows and interiors to look like a commie-mercial aircraft. I need to open up the windows, and create the thickness of my he interior, while ending up with a smooth interior surface. Simply sanding off the ribs will not have enough thickness, so I added spacing plastic between the ribs that will be covered with another thinner sheet inside, then another layer of plastic strip in the window openings, finally a clear sheet will be installed flush on the outside, the edges filled, then the openings will be masked so it looks like the glass is flush with the skin.

I finally figure that strip strip stock would be more consistent than sanding the shape.

Spacing plastic, allows me to glue another thin layer inside.

First attempt at at the window using pencil marks and sanding sticks, OK, but not perfect.

Testing the theory, A small piece of clear in the opening sits flush, now I can cut larger pieces and glue them in.

THIS is why I never get anything done.................................... I'm too busy sitting here in awe with my mouth open watching the finer details being overcome by feats of engineering I would NEVER have thought of......................... like Martin says, Brilliant....................:o

I have been faithfully gluing, hacking, and sanding for weeks, getting close to painting the insides. Hopefully I will have the colors picked out this week.

This all dry fit in the pictures, once I glue it in, it should close up a few gaps and add some filler, plus there is some "wood" trim that is going along the top seam. I still have a couple tables, ash trays, and some Vodka and glasses to go in the liquor cabinet. After all, you cant have a Communist Political Party helicopter without the party items!
