I'll start with the engine, here is the series of pics that follow the engine construction and initial painting. Note at one point I had scratched some wiring but ended up crushing the part on the floor, so I discarded it...I'll show the wiring work here for reference.

On to painting, at first I shot some of the new Vajello duraluminum paint, way too shiny. I striped this and went with a black base and then dry brushed a cast aluminum look.

I'm buckled in, always interested how others tackle their 152. It seems like it is in the best of hands with you.

Cheers Rob

Love the engine Ryan. I've never managed to get the hang of drybrushing to the extent of doing work like that. What's the secret?

Hey Gus, I used Vajello Model Air Aluminum and went to town with a rounded brush.

I can't say for certain, but I think the MA paint has a an additive to make it spray better, This additive helps it not clump up like a typical water based dry brush would normally do.

I was one step away from using MM Aluminum to preform the dry brush, but then that would have effected the oil based washes I am using.

Thanks for looking in.

I have one of these in the stash so will be watching with interest. I bought the H-1 when it came out but the H-0 release seemed so much improved I sold it and got the H-0. Your works looks great so far ! Keep them coming !

Thanks Ryan. Never tried the Model Air paints but have used the 'ordinary' Vallejo for brush painting and found it nice to use. Will look to pick some up next I'm near our nearest model store.
