Now that's interesting, at least to me. All my builds I build for myself and some are more documented through a WIP than others. The main drive to build was my own interest into a subject though. Even on a GB, I would only participate if there is a fitting match to my building desires.

It's great to learn how different we all are. This makes our hobby shine in more dimensions and gives insights into your minds and raises temptations sometimes.

Cheers Rob

I am very competitive, and I recently attended a few contests that left me frustrated and slightly confused.   I realized I had started a few builds to "show them" at the contest but that was unfulfilling.   I'll also build stuff occasionally because so and so will think that's really neat, but in reality I dont have much passion for the subject.   I looked at my display case and realized the best builds of mine are ones I'm passionate about, that were done on my time table how I want them.  Its an aging process in the hobby as in life.  I'm slowly finding my way.

I completely understand! my best builds were built for me, and did not win anything. i even went back and added detail to my favorite build (Ki-84) three times. I am giving up building for contests And focusing on fun.

Every once in a while we have to hit the reset button. I am building two “off the books” projects right now, and one is a car! Have fun and build away!

Tony, we’re all competitive. That’s the nature of us all when we build. If we’re not competitive with each other, then we are with ourselves.  It’s human nature, my friend.

I compete with myself, and frankly, I love taking a neat model to a show at times.

Im 100% convinced that, if done correctly, this Avenger will take all the marbles at the shows.  It’s big, it’s bright, and it’s unique. Plus, it’s built by you, which is the biggest secret weapon you have.

Looking forward to seeing this, one of my favorite Avenger schemes, come together.

Had some time this evening to work on ol' 22 while paint on the Mustang was drying.   I'm pretty much knee deep in contemplation and planning right now.  I did a quick fit of the wings and main interior section.  I wanted to check size, fit, and work through the mods in my mind.   First observation is its certainty a Trumpeter kit.  But, certainly workable.   Second observation, I don't think my display case is big enough!

I also am fairly certain as to the major panel line cuts for the rear canopy conversion and have highlighted them.  If anyone disagrees please let me know!

I'm standing on the ramp in Missoula, Montana.   On the other side of the runway maybe 300 yards away, is a TBM firebomber.   Unfortunately the museum is closed for the season and I cant get to it!!!! All the answers a mere 300 yards away.....

Got a really cool gift in the mail today! Jeff was more than too kind, and he passed along an FPL hat that was sent to him by the head of maintenance at FPL.  I cant wait to get going on this thing full time after I wrap up my Mustang.   I was able to do a bit more research and find some more mods she need to be Canadian.

Maybe some poutine and back bacon would help? :D

All kidding aside, great work so far Tony.

Carl

I remember the first time I was in Montreal, and learned about poutine.   I had flown to Canada a lot before but mostly to Quebec for the car factories and Ft. Mac for the oil.  I was up in Montreal for the F1 race and my copilot and I went out to eat.  I about fell out of the booth laughing when I saw poutine in the menu.   Just trying to pronounce it properly got me, and I had to ask the waitress what in the world is it.  But, I always get it now when I'm up that way.

Gravy on fries, something just a little out there for me...........:respect:

Scottish version is grated cheese on fries (or chips as we call them). Mind you, we are also the nation that gave the world the deep fried Mars Bar. No wonder we have an issue with cardiac disease!
