harv
Last piece of the puzzle as far as the cowling wing area. Looks like a birthcontrol device ! One side is good, the other, not so much....harv 4

Hope that no putty will be required...
Rowdy
Very hard kit to build Harv so far I see since I follow this one! But your work will pay off! Respect for your effort! 5
AlanG
The good thing about modelling Fw190s (short noses) is that in real life the cowls and upper gun covers weren't always a flush fitting. Especially if they had replacement parts fitted. 4

BlrwestSiR
Seems a decent fit with your tweaks Harv. Like I said, Hasegawa kits have given me fits over the years.
harv
I think this was the most challenging part of the build. Everything else went rather well. The probs with the pit was all my own doing. The wing fit was almost perfect. The fuselage was not bad at all....harv
harv
Well I've gone as far as I can on this one. Have to wait for warmer weather to do any AB work. So, looking for a different project.......harv

Good to learn that the fit of the rest was nice. Looking forward to seeing it painted soon (when the weather allows it)! What will be your meantime project? 4

Wumm
Hasegawa's A-5 kit utilises the wing parts from their earlier D-9 release; much like the real aircraft, only of course in reverse order. As such, specific parts needed to be generated for the short nose variants, and again like the actual aircraft are not precise in their fitment (as others have mentioned in earlier posts in this thread.) I should have been more specific in the above post. After taping all of the wing parts together, and ensuring that everything is in place and the cowl parts fit; then follow the kit's instruction sequence, except for assembling the cowl parts around the already completed lower wing and fuselage parts. harv
Really ? This long ago ? I finally sat back at the bench. I checked it over and realized I hadn't filled the gap at rear of wing assembly. So here it is. Waiting for glue to do its work. Cheers....harv

harv
Had a few bad spots I noticed, so slapped on some filler and did some sanding today. Still have some on the nose to do....harv
BlrwestSiR
Harv, if that's your idea of slapping on filler, can you come to our house and do some tuck pointing? I've got some cracks in our brick that need filling. Your "slapping on" is neater than my precision application. Oh and glad to see you back at the bench.
