Peterpools
Thanks Kai Can't wait to dig in right after the P-51. I ordered all the MRP paints need for the ZM He 219 Uhu and my major reference is the same as yours: Daniel Zamarblide's book - it's a gold mine and was also my main reference the first time around as well. My goal is a straight OOB build, with all the access panels open and the engines hanging in the breeze. Going to be great having you following my progress and the spark to start your kit as well down the road Keep 'em comin Peter

I‘m really struggling with me if I do the build like you with all possible hatches and covers open to show the awesome interior. On the other side it partly destroys the outward shape of the plane which I normally want to keep as much as possible (same as with folding wings on e.g. a Corsair). But I can decide according to your progress!
Peterpools
Kai It's a tough decision for sure but there is way to much gorgeous details to cover up on the Uhu. If I was going to go the route of a button up Uhu, then maybe the Revell kit might be a better option. Way too many options for sure. I like the shape of the Uhu and won't have that disturbed by opened hatches. The canopy may be opened, and maybe... Cheers Rob
Peterpools
Rob Been tossing and turning over the same and some how never Seem to make the final decision until at that portion of the build. Thank goodness there is no rule and limit on how many times we’re allowed to flip flop. Oh the joy of kits with nearly unlimited options Keep ‘em comin Peter

Right now I've very strongly leaning towards the ZM He219 as my next build. Yes, I know I got pretty far with one I remember the 219 well, it would be great to see you getting to grips with it again. Not sure if I have room for another 32nd twin........
Peterpools
Phil Have the bench cleaned off and ready to start. Unfortunately most of last week was filled with doctor visits and the early part of this week as well - took my wife for her second Covid injection today and chemmo on Wednesday. Hopefully, the rest of the week and weekend should allow a lot of time for modeling, depending how I feel. Keep 'em comin Peter

Had a real stink of a fuss to clean it so I’ve ordered some now so things on hold a little here to....... All ready here for your build .......
DocRob
The AK Extreme cleaner is my new go to solution for getting rid of any residues in the airbrush, at least, all the stuff I use. Smells like hell, but I use far less, than with other cleaners. Only some drops with the nozzle closed with the gloved hand to loosen any residues. blow out in a paper towel and in the end of the day, a thorough cleaning with the disassembled airbrush receiving some drops of the AK stuff. I always use a mask and have proper ventilation, but to me the small amount of needed cleaner is a clear benefit. Cheers Rob 5

With no shows on the horizon I ordered a whole bunch of stuff that should see me through. Went a little bit mad a over £60 worth but should see me through for quite awhile......it has to......
Bomber_County
Resupply all items safely delivered including another AK Extreme Matt Aluminium. Just tried out the Matt aluminium and its stunning. Black based as suggests and then laid on the aluminium. See for yourself below...... The cowls are blue tacked on, this is my cunning plan to spray and decal the whole model and then expose the engine and have the completed cowls propped up somewhere. The leading edge is literally pushed on, no glue or anything, it will be fixed........so next will be clean everything and black base and then use a number of the AK Extreme metals so adding differences in the NMF......

The landing gear really looks stunning! I also should give these AK extreme metallics a try. Used Alclad up to now. I‘m really curious how this Mustang will look like with paint on.
GusMac
The AK Extreme Metals are brilliant to work with and very robust once done. No problems with masking etc
DocRob
This will be great Phil. Maybe it's a good idea to cut the masks for panels now, without paint on the fuselage and wings. Stick on some Kabuki tape and cut them carefully or use a fingernail or another fitting tool on the kabuki and cut it when removed from the plastic. Peterpools
Phil Can’t wait to see your Mustang out of the paint shop - she is looking so good. Nothing like a NMF and my money is riding on you.. The kit fit looks mighty good and I’m hoping my ZM Owl’s fit comes close to yours, as I’m sure the builder had a lot to do with the results. Finally have enough done for pics of the DB603 engines and getting the build thread going. Keep ‘em comin Peter

What I also like about the AK Extreme I didn’t have one issue with tip drying and was also doing some of the P38 at the session....
