  1. Conversely, I always wash everything, resin or plastic. A good scrubbing with an old toothbrush in warm water and detergent. Others use a mild bleach solution for removing resin mould release agents, but I've rarely had that issue and usually Metholated spirits works for me. Then out in the Sun under an old Margarine container to dry off. We have Cocker Spaniels, and they shed like Billy-o even with regular trimming and brushing, especially in the hotter months.
  2. My exclusive primers are the Tamiya rattle can options. Current favourite is the Oxide Red colour they introduced recently for German Armour subjects. It's hard-wearing and as I always use it outdoors; it's easy to check coverage in less than ideal lighting conditions, as most plastics and resins these days are themselves often a shade of grey.
  3. Keep an eye out for it Monday... There's a whole bunch of Formula 1 cars and equipment at the Circuit of the Americas right about now, that will need to be in Mexico City the following weekend.
  4. It's 12:20am here, and there's a Powerful Owl a'hooting in the Park behind our house. Possum is very, very scared...
  5. Thanks for posting this Gerhard... There are some minor discrepancies in Martin W Bowman's book "Castles in the Air" 463rd BG is Y - outlined 490th BG is T - squared 493rd BG is X - squared I cannot otherwise confirm which list is correct regarding these particular codes. S
  6. Recycled airframe with overpainted Snake, old worn and chipped panels, new replacement panels, completely new tail section, overspray to tone down the RLM74 on the wings... just mouth-watering!
  7. Kind of know what you mean Ern... I watched Troy Bayliss win the final race of the Australian Superbikes last weekend, made me want to crack open the 1/12 Tamiya Ducati MotoGP kit again. That and the Kopfstand Fw190 photo in the Würger party thread too... S
  8. The photos are clear and precise, and show the area to great advantage. I wouldn't concern yourself Jim; I remember almost a decade ago the crap that particular Site allowed James Kelley to post about your review of the Zoukeu Mura Ta152 kit... it seems that unsubstantiated claims about kit quality and alegations of Contra deals with Kit suppliers is still par for the course over there; yet if you provide clear evidence of why the Hasegawa Bf109 kit is not 2mm short at the nose it gets you branded a trouble-maker. The wiring... I actually prefer to add my own. Much easier to paint and looks much better IMO. S
  9. That's what she said! Niiiiice score Ernie. You could fit a body in that trunk. S
  10. "Hey... they're not Squirrels!"... Says Panda to Rabbit.
  11. I make do with a cheap pair of generic 3.5x magnification reading glasses from the local Pharmacy. Although I suspect it makes me look like the Lady from a Gary Larson cartoon...
  12. My apologies Hubert, I did not notice that this earlier post was directed to me. I meant no vulgarity earlier in this thread. I refer to this definition... So whether it's a Cornetto, or someone on a Forum who is put in their place by a Moderator, sometime you have no choice but to suck it.
  13. Much better definition on those radios now. Lovely work!
  14. Great work Bill. I'm cutting up a perfectly good Hasegawa Fw190 over in the Resin Build section, and the first cut was definitely the hardest. S
  15. Yeah, I find it a little weird as well. Don't know why though, can't quite put my finger on it...
  16. Does it work on Analogue Phones as well? Or only Digital...
  17. Sounds fun Doc, I'm surprise you remembered!
  18. Not weather related, but... Completely authentic dude Nick Cave. I would often pass him on my delivery route in Melbourne early 2000's around 8am having coffee in St.Kilda dressed exactly like that. His closet must have been like my Dad's only with a long row of 3 piece black suits instead of camos.
  19. Different point of view are all good Danny... WNW already have the CAD data, their Boss loves Aviation, and they have access to all the necessary Manufacturing and Distribution channels. It makes perfect sense. It's not a subject I would ever consider buying, but if the kind of detail evident from the CAD work can be replicated in styrene it's going to be a very impressive kit.
  20. Never mind, small steps... I just sat down after lunch, to start sanding away the inside detail from the Hasagawa cockpit interior with the last Q of the Ravens / Steelers game on. Nek minute, somehow I'm now out in the back yard doing SWMBO's bidding. Get it while you can.
  21. The only thing that really interests me is the 1/24 Hasegawa Nissan R91 Sports Protoype. 1991 All Japan Champion, 1992 Daytona 24hr Champion, only ever done in full resin by Studio 27 many years ago. Sorry, back to your Scheduled Programming.
