  1. Gaz Torpedoes look mighty good and the paint work is very well done. Yup masking small molded on parts with little relief is a tough act for sure and agree completely that these parts should have been molded separately. Of course, more parts, the kit cost would go up but a better model will surely be the result.
  2. Thanks Rob, so very much appreciated. It's been a struggle and I'm working on finishing up the Kingfisher this weekend. I'm still very sore and uncomfortable but starting to feel a little better every day.
  3. Martin Terrific progress on your Mossie - always so many decisions and you always seem to pick the right ones.
  4. Jerry One awesome Phantom - beautiful build
  5. Thanks Mike, I was surprised that they came out as well as they did. Just glad I don't have to redo them.
  6. Scott Looking good and holy cow, she sure is using up the paint, hopefully not by the gallon. Can't see the spots in the paint except for the circle around them. Fingers crossed you won't need to repaint
  7. Jerry Has to be something wrong on their end. Did you shoot them an email?
  8. Alan Geez, that's unusual as ScanDisc SD cards are excellent. Shouldn't have assumed what brand of SD card you were using without first asking - my apologies.
  9. Jerry Only notices I get are the weekend specials. Not sure if I'm the newsletter list but I'll check.
  10. Alan Sounds mighty good. Sorry to read about your SD card. I'm pretty deep into photography and from the channels and vlogs I've followed for years, plus my own experiences, SD card failure isn't as rare as we think. Off brand name cards fails way more then the better known cards. A number of years ago I bought a few extra SD cards just in case I needed the extra capacity the day before we left for vacation and all I could find was a brand I never heard off. I was shooting with a Nikon D850 then and tested out both of those cards on vacation - and they both failed and were round filed on the spot.
  11. Oliver Awesome work, just awesome. The wash looks fantastic.
  12. Yikes, that terrible. Any chance of a light sanding will remove the stains? With all the work done so perfectly, I would strip her back to bare plastic and start the painting procedure over - just way to much good work to sit at the back of the shelf. I've stripped more models then I care to remember.
  13. Can't wait for the new Revell Hurrican to show up here in the states, as we now seem to be last for everything. I've followed Nigel's build on his channel and this is a 100% new kit and looks fantastic.
  14. Ernie Great story and I'm a huge fan of the Dragon Lady. Normally it takes a chase pilot and another pilot in a car behind the U2 to assist her in landing, so he surely earned his pay that day. Yes, he surely was lucky and one very skilled U2 driver.
  15. COMING TOGETHER The worst is over and finally I can see the finish line. At first, if it wasn’t for the stress cracking that seemed to take forever to resolve and then my oral surgery last Saturday, the Kingfisher would have already crossed the finish line (maybe). After all the decals were down and in place, I needed apply a seal coat of clear gloss but couldn’t: I always wear a respirator and paint using my spray booth but after the surgery, there was no way I could wear a mask and the Kingfisher had to sit and wait. Finally, yesterday I was up to getting back to the build and the mask wasn’t very uncomfortable when air brushing. Tamiya Clear Gloss LP-9 had the honors and when dried, I was itching beyond control to remove all the canopy masking that took nearly five days to do way back when and see what it looked like. I was amazed … not too bad at all and I was very pleased with the results – just wouldn’t want to do it again. Now starts adding all the small details, some detail brush painting, add the beaching gear and outrigger floats and call it a day. Just wanted to post a few photographs of how the Kingfisher has progressed. Hoping to cross the finish line this weekend and on to my next built: the Revell Spitfire Mk lla.
  16. Paul Looking forward to following your Tamiya Mossie build, the key, just follow the instructions and go slow. Everything fits and zero issues.
  17. Chris Gaz's photograph shows the attachment point very well and should be a big help. I'm with Carl in that I've shied away from doing figures for all these years and if I tried now, it certainly would a daunting experience. I still have the erg these days to try but working in 32nd or 35th scale will be a lot easier and my only chance of succeeding (quality doesn't count). Yup, getting your crew to fit is another issue and the only two options seems to be; trimming the figures as needed opening up the pilot's area a bit more in the cockpit - Both aren't ideal and both will need a steady hand. I'm sure you will have all under control as you work your way through the problem.👍
  18. Martin Your modification are looking so good. if you're just an assembler, that easily lowers me down to the rank of "Snap Tite" assembler.
  19. Chris Right with you on the Voodoo wish list.
  20. Hubert Thank you for the explanation and example. One of the areas I was responsible for in the building of custom gunite swimming pools was the water hydraulics for water features such as negative edges, cascades, spas and fountains and everything in between. In a way pretty much the same as to insure all the water features worked flawlessly, it all started with having the right amount of water when needed and the ability to flow at specific rates.
