  1. Mike Just go at your own speed and the Walrus will certainly a winner.
  2. Mike Nice to see you working on the Walrus kit and enjoying filling in all those ejector pin holes. a poor job on Airfix producing a kit these days with that amount on injection pin marks.
  3. Kev The mine assembly looks just right and some mighty fine work. Your photographs work just fine and I can see all the details by just clicking on the photo, as it enlarges.
  4. Mark Nice progress on the interior and what would modeling be without poor instructions .
  5. Gaz Completely agree on the interior - black is the way to go as there is so very little details to be seen. I'm with Rob, just do what you can do without knocking yourself out. In the end, your E Boat is going to looking fantastic.
  6. Carl Amazing PE work and now operating draws. Too bad they are so small, as they would be a good place for the secret stash. Can't wait to see all of these assemblies painted - going to look tremendous.
  7. Chris Considering the age of the figures, scale and how you are working towards a specific look, your figures are looking good. No question, way better then anything I could do.
  8. Scott Amazing work and thank you for the 'keep it clean' tip. I always try to keep my bench as clean as possible and no question will be buying a small vacuum to do the honors in the future.0
  9. MIke Brilliant build - the added details and the unusual cammo scheme add to a spectacular build 🏆 Absolutely do a complete build thread for your upcoming 239 Buffalo - will be looking forward to following every step of the way. .
  10. Rob Nothing more persona; and intense then a true passion for a hobby and while I didn't understand most of the technical names and descriptions, comparing them to a Nikon F2 or a Leica, turned on the light bulb for me. I've owned three Nikon F3HP's and finally have a F2 on its way, so I can appreciate your passion for listen to music on such sophisticated stereo (if this is the right word) equipment. At some point the nuts for the base had to go one once you decided against the water base. .
  11. Sasha Some mighty fine and realistic weathering on the radar assembly - looks spot on the money
  12. Thanks Kev, nothing like a beautiful gal😉
  13. Thanks John One pic is worth a thousand words - some mighty fine work
  14. John Nice work adapting Tamiya folding wing mechanism to the Trumpeter Corsair. Any pics how you did it?
  15. Thanks Mike Much appreciated both for the Kingfisher's progress and the upcoming surgery.
  16. Thanks Rob and I was lucky the repairs finally worked. Just love those between the war year paint schemes - they just jump right out of the display case. Getting a be apprehensive about tomorrows surgery and hopefully, the discomfort will ease up in a few days after the procedure. Just a long time coming.
  17. Ernie Sounds good and I knew there were solid reasons behind the methods of your madness 😉Just so different in how we each approached the build and how we like to display our models in the end.
  18. Hope you still have the base, as it can be rescued. Scrape off as much of the ground cover as you can. Then glue on finely sifted sawdust - an old model railroading ground cover technique. Once dry, air brush or paint to what you envisioned and then add the details.
  19. Martin Looking mighty good and a shame, a subject we don't often see builds of.
  20. Just not my kind of subject - everyone has their own like, wants and I'll pass list.
  21. Ernie Been following along - step by step and day by day. I am pretty amazed at how you resolved a lot of the issues I needed to tackle but in quite a different way. GWH did a terrible job on the elongated PE parts by the leading edge - fit is really poor. Can't understand why just not mold them in plastic. I filled mine in with Evergreen strip - not perfect but looked a lot better. Also, nice going on some fancy seam and filling work on the wing fillet - bad choice again by GWH where they chose to make the joint seam - just made for a lot more work. I'm sure it had to do with mold limitations but there surely could have been a better way. Color wise, you made some nice choices based your final mixes being aimed at a weathered, operational look. When I was doing my paint research, I did find the references on Britmodeler, which were thoroughly thought out and look good. Since My P-40 wasn't going to be weathered, I kept going and eventually found the documented research I used. It's all in the look you want to model to convey.
  22. Chris Carl surely has the gift of working with PE as Rob does. Just way too difficult for me at this stage of the game.
  23. Gaz I have a few Airfix kits in the stash I'm waiting to build: 1/48 Sea Fury with all the Barracuda resin sets 1/48 Hurricane - started but now on hold with the Revell 1/32 due here on our side of the pond any year
