  1. Kent Fantastic progress on the cammo masking and paint work. Keep ‘em comin Peter
  2. Kai No rush,, when time allows Keep ‘em commin Peter
  3. John I know the feeling all too well. When the juices dry up, it’s always the best approach to pack up the kit until the mojo returns. Beautiful work to this point. Keep ‘em comin Peter
  4. Kev Great news for sure that I misunderstood and all is well! Keep 'em comin Peter
  5. Phil Nice going - glad it worked out so well. Always a treat to be able to add a new technique to the tool chest. Keep 'em comin Peter
  6. Phil And of course wishing you luck with the Micro Mask - one tough job for sure. I’ve never masked a canopy with it mother then small fill in areas and it does grip as if it was ‘nailed’ in place. 🤞 Keep ‘em comin Peter
  7. Kent Looking so good. I’m in complete agreement with Rob on your choice for masking and the procedure seems so logical. John B is also a big advocate of shooting enamels and except for their longer drying times, the End results are awesome. Keep ‘em comin Peter
  8. Kev Most important of all ... enjoy the holidays. Sorry to hear about your son - hoping he is going to make a full recovery. Keep ‘em comin Peter
  9. Gaz Working in various scales does take some time to adjust to the size, real estate and to just plain old get the feel. Keep ‘em comin Peter
  10. John Has the Quinta detail set been shipped yet, so you can plan accordingly? Keep ‘em comin Peter
  11. My vote would be to not detail the interior as once the model is in the display case and unless you would be able to see the detailed interior without picking up the model, just a lot of work that will never be seen. I know the other side of the coin is to do all the detailing and knowing it’s there is important and self rewarding but just doesn’t make sense to me. My vote all these years is if you can’t see it, leave the details out, ala ZM kits. Keep ‘em comin Peter
  12. Harv You’re in high gear and making fantastic progress. Keep ‘em comin Peter
  13. Thanks Carl Will be continuing checking out the various Tamiya Thinners and Retarder today but as with their LP Lacquer Paints (which are finally beIn sold here in the states), their Orange Cap Thinner and Retarder are not available here, after checking all of my normal vendors. I never understood why Tamiya USA doesn’t import the full line of Tamiya products but so far they don’t, including some of their glues and tools. Crazy as it sounds, I’ve discovered that LP1 Gloss Back while thinned and applied correctly, does lay down super smooth but it’s no where as ‘glossy’ as their Acrylic X1 Gloss Black but LP2 Gloss White is super smooth and much more glossy then their Acrylic Gloss White. Go figure🙃 Thanks for the info and I’ll keep on looking. Keep ‘em comin Peter
  14. John Who did you order your Quinta set from? I order mine from Sprue Bros with regular shipping and it takes about a week for the package to arrive. Looking forward to your next Sherman update. Keep 'em comin Peter
  15. Thanks Kev Painting should resume today (Wed 12/8/21) with the wings, prop and gear. Keep 'em comin Peter
  16. Ernie I'm in for both: Giving and Receiving Infinity Model Diamond Taper Narrow File Sets: 2.5 & 6.0mm Keep 'em comin Peter
  17. Nice progress Harv, looking mighty good. Keep 'em comin Peter
  18. Thanks Gaz Nope, I only wet sand the gray primer if needed. The gloss black is not touched at all, as it's smooth as silk and ready to go. Keep 'em comin Peter
  19. Thanks Phil, much appreciated and looking forward to you heading back to the ZM P-51 and finishing her up. Nope, no need to buy any specific air brush cleaners after using AK Extreme Metals. All I use is good old lacquer thinner from the hardware store and that's it. I've been using it for years with AK and Alclads and all my paints except Model Air, as it is the only paint that I've ever found that needs it own thinner. Keep 'em comin Peter
  20. Scott Beautiful display - some wonderful craftsmanship Keep ‘em comin Peter
  21. Kev Awesome work and skills that unfortunately I do not possess at all. Nothing as appealing as a display case for your models and stash, made by the model builder to blend in with your home. Mine is a tall glass display case I bought years ago from a vender in Texas and shipping cost Was huge chunk of the purchase. One thing I have found is I sealed the sliding glass doors with foam and in nearly ten years have never needed to dust a single model or glass shelf, the seal is that tight. Only drawbacks is it’s weight and it isn’t as stiff/rigid as I thought it should be. Of course, I assembled it and that could be a big part of the issue. Still, I’ve had the display case now for nearly ten years and it does fit the bill and looks good. Keep ‘em comin Peter
  22. Martin The curse of kit costs these days🤨 Keep ‘em comin Peter
  23. Mike A braver man then I ... nice going on the ‘fix’, which came out perfect. Keep ‘em comin Peter
