  1. Thanks for the encouragement, probably not much, the canopy is quite large and the radios etc will be seen.
  2. Cockpit, firewall etc aligned and fixed.........also the tail section, I am enjoying this bravo ZM......
  3. I fought that kit all the way, especially the cockpit and it’s fitting into fuselage and wing........
  4. Paul, yes I’ve built this...... and I to after 2 hours tipped all the tracks in the bin. Absolutely impossible to build and make look like anything decent. I bought these and that’s what you see......Masterclub MC135132CL They snap together and are resin, still have to be careful but they are a single link per.......hope it helps......
  5. This one is being a bit of a hand full, I agree sometimes when they fight back it can be rewarding......
  6. Great build, congrats.........love the factory fresh look......
  7. Looking amazing Ian, that’s a lot of work but satisfying.........I remember reading in a 5 Group book I think, there was a huge repair facility at Lincoln for Lancs etc for nearly all the fields in Lincolnshire. There was a quote saying “we took as many wrecks etc to make one good one” I dare bet some of the returns were a mishmash of several Mk’s .........when did they remove the windows?
  8. Thanks Jamme much appreciated....
  9. Rob, hopefully the canopy is quite large on a 51........
  10. Thanks Mike, I’m not sure which decals or scheme to use either, I may just get another set of decals......have to research a bit more. You’ll love the build when you start.....
  11. Thanks, trying it encapsulate the used but not abused look......
  12. Thanks Rowdy, for once I’m pleased with the colours, the Zinc is an old Xtracolor enamel and is the closest i can find. The rest are Vallejo....
  13. Carl, two Lancs, two Mosquitoes, B24 & B17 so for me that’s ten year’s modelling...........and that’s if the eyes and body keeps going.......
  14. Damn squirrels, there everywhere.........
  15. Thanks Fran, the MobelWagen looks interesting, you go to town on adding AM etc........
  16. Mike , absolutely stunning, a true work of art.........amazing congrats....... I sneaked a look at the Duchess of Kingston.......oh my I want one, you and Ernie have intrigued me.......probably wait till I’m retired......
  17. Thanks Harv, I’ll do a follow up when I’ve checked all alignments, really impressed ZM engineering.....
  18. Time to close this pit up...........
  19. Hang on a *od damn minute...........Mr Ernie........that huge squirrel has been around again........were you or were you not building something for the Vegas show...........for the life of me can’t remember what it was........ just saying ........
  20. My take is, if investors and manufacturers are willing to bring 1/35 aircraft to market they should be applauded not ridiculed as on some sites. The more larger scale builds we see then the hobby will only benefit. As Ernie said, the shows are full of 1/72 and still those manufacturers bring new kits out, we don’t bemoan them so why should we criticise Border for bringing out 1/35 aircraft. IMHO good on Border.......
  21. Paul, just catching up, this is looking very good indeed, the figure is very good. For the weathering there is right or wrong answer, as Rob said study pics, video etc. I use acrylic based washes etc and pigments in diluted with distilled water, if I looks wrong wash it off.
  22. I’m with you on that one Gaz, ironically all my project work before COVID was abroad, so travelling was essential. Result no project work since end of August....
  23. The AK Extreme Metal is sprayable enamel and the AK True Metal is enamel / wax combination ( I think). These are the only two enamel based products I use.... https://ak-interactive.com/product-category/paints/true-metal-paints/ https://ak-interactive.com/product-category/paints/xtreme-metal-paints/
  24. Thanks Rob, much appreciated, the True Metals are buffable but never got the Extreme Metal to buff. I used the True Metals on radiators and Extreme Metal on the engine......
  25. Thanks Carl, as you can see from last years builds four AFV’s out of six, I reckon it was time to get back to some wings......
