  1. Hi guys. I was watching a youtube of a model being made and the modeller used what he called Vallejo acrylic putty. Visiting the Valljo site I see they have Plastic putty. In the video the guy applies it to a gap, then wipes off the excess with a cotton wool bud. Very easy. The cotton tip looked dry. Anyone use this product who might explain the method? Thanks.
  2. Probably just America. Other countries have their own laws.
  3. I note the time taken building this kit. I admire your effort very much. The tank is looking great.
  4. Oh cool. That's right up my alley! Great idea.
  5. Up all night modeling! Cheers! Happy New year. And get some rest. Make sure your space is well ventilated. Don't make us worry! Best advice of 2019.
  6. Mate, I used to live in Mildura. 47 and only a dangerous river to swim in. Happy New year Rog.
  7. Indeed they are. Have you checked out Portuguese F-84's? Brasilian P-47's?
  8. Cheers Jeff. Have a great year mate.
  9. Hi guys. It is New year's eve here in the southern hemisphere. Bloody hot here in Sydney. 35 here at 3.45 PM. I for one am very happy. It has been a great year for me, getting the all clear surviving terminal leukemia. It doesn't get any better than that for an individual. I see members here have welcomed new comers into this world. Congratulations guys. Others have come through serious surgery to then hit the bench and outshine others such as I. (There comes a time when you're just showing off, you know. ) I for one wish you all the best in 2020. Happy New year. Dale.
  10. Great stuff Carl. You really powered through that WNW Junkers.
  11. Great work guys. John, especially the Kiwi P-40. (Hint Kiwi F4U) Very inspiring, guys. Wonderful.
  12. Looking forward to seeing this.
  13. ICM Gloster Gladiator review.
  14. Cheers mate. Jarrah. THE MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I built the little 1/72 Airfix Spitfire for a 10 year old that was a birthday present. I think this is from 2019. This was a birthday present for a 12 year old boy.
  16. Well this morning I again, like yesterday, awoke before sunrise. I watched the sun come up. It was a very deep and dark sight. It was beautiful and yet the bushfire smoke made it menacing. The sun has been playing a huge part during this build. My GSI & Tamiya and Alclad dry in 5 seconds. After painting or using surfacer, I sit them on the path and bingo bango, dry. Even Mr surfacer 500 dries in less than 10 minutes. So yesterday evening I took a photo to show you guys. My phone has a great camera but cannot do it justice. I am working very slowly, but the speed at which things dry makes it look fast.
  17. Do you guys ever watch the old British Pathe airshows? Some of those old British aircraft are pretty funky. I could have bought the Airfix 1/72 kit the other day for 30 bucks reduced from $100.00. I showed great restraint.
  18. I saw that. Looking at the post war beaten up Frank looks like the kit plane when I look at it from the same angle. I have collected many photos of the hayate and I find it frustrating that none of those photographers took a level head on photo for me!!! Very inconsiderate. It is confusing. Hasegawa has made the kits with this feature. Specifically. On both the 32 and 48. Is it just for the Type 4??? Oh well, I am going to trust Hasegawa. I fear if I try to force it I will break it and have to raid the kit I am sending overseas for the chrissy prize. I can't just plunk in a Raiden or a Tojo instead with a note saying "Your Christmas surprise!!!". Very unsportsmanlike.
  19. Hi Hubert. The angles are set this way. The starboard side has a fitting that differs from the port so as to avoid confusion. I have been studying photographs and the angle is difficult to see. So I checked with my Hasegawa 1/48 Ki-84 & it is exactly the same. I am trusting Hasegawa at this point. They do very good work when making Japanese subjects. Surgery is required to fit them level. I can't imagine Hasegawa would make such an error over two kits. The Japanese can be quite quirky. The Ki-84 is perhaps a reflection of Japanese game shows, "idiosyncratic".
