  1. Glad to be of help. Peter! Maybe you'll find yourself building something like this some day: Hasegawa 1/32 scale Boeing P-12E. Not my work... just one I saw on the net.
  2. Gottfried Weiroster was a luftwaffe ace with 6 kills in only 19 missions. He flew with Jagdgruppe Sud, Stab/Jagdgruppe 50, and JG11 He gave his life defending his country in aerial combat against against US Bombers and their escorts over the Jade Bight on 26 November 1943. The materials at hand are the Revell Bf 109G6 early/late: And a whole bunch of AM. I don't know the W.Nr of this machine, though it is written that he fell flying a bf109G5/U4 W.Nr 26112. In the color photo, you can see a small hint of the gondola under the port wing which would house a single MG 151. This has been reported as being 'green 3', but I much prefer the red and will be working to emulate the color photo. Of course... if anyone knows more, I'd be happy to learn.
  3. Those are some great details! Love that bed. Red. Red with pin stripes. Red and white, Red and black, or red with black and white. Please... no Pink, polka dots, nor JB Hunt Livery.
  4. Thank you, Kai! I hope you find the tips useful.... and soon.
  5. Sheesh! No wonder you're not getting many models done! I admire your patience to complete a project like that.
  6. Thank you, Jeff! The final photos are posted here: Meanwhile, here are a few more tips for your future rigging adventures: 1. Tape finger: You can see how tiny the eyelet and brass tube are. They easily fly or drop out of your tweezers. This little bit of tape on your finger tip will save you a lot of agro either while moving the parts to the model, or while threading the tube, minimizing tweezer-time and tweezer launches. 2. A sticky cutting surface for the eyelets. You can waste a lot of time trying to shorten the eyelets to the desired length with side cutters. It's far easier to stick the eyelet to a loop of tape on a hard surface, and cut it with a blade. 3rd and final tip: Start from the middle and work your way outwards: You don't want to be reaching past rigging to try to work with other rigging. It's a fiddly enough process. I imagine this point in the wingroot area is the center for rigging on most planes. But you get the idea. Happy modelling!
  7. Looking forward to these a lot. I'd better build all of my Hasegawa and Revell stuff!
  8. Nice save, Rob! I hate to see a good model go to waste.
  9. Well, Kai... You've done some great work on so much stuff that many have given up on. Those parts look nice... your washes look especially good. I think after this, you should reward yourself with a WNW (or Meng Fokker) kit where the worst you have to do is eliminate the dorsal seam. For motivation I present to you the Rise of Flight Forum where you can see lots of inspirational artworks based on Fokker fighters. ...you may have to join to see the photos. https://riseofflight.com/forum/forum/197-fokker-dvii/ And some of the photos... due to the age of the posts have disappeared. I had the game Rise of Flight years ago, but got disillusioned with it shortly before I returned to building models. Anyway.... looking forward to paint!
  10. My wife and I were hoping to take a NZ cruise in February (for our 20th). That means we have to pay by November. But we have no idea whether we'll be going or not. Truth be told... I don;t want to risk being quarantined somewhere.
  11. Not a hot chick.... but different! From farcebook. Speaking of farcebook... should the time come when I actually have to cover up an emblem.... I'll use this emblem I modified slightly. It'll be ok..... right?
  12. Thank you, Kai! It looks like my building plans have been held up a little by life and some difficulties getting the top wing on this morning. I'll talk more about that on the final reveal. During some TV time this past week and a half I was watching the TV Series Deutschland 83. I still have to read the english subtitles but I'm hoping to improve my very spotty German by watching the next two. I had to look up 'Bis bald'. But I'll try not to use Google translate if I can avoid it. Tschuß
  13. I envy you somewhat... though I would hate to be in the basement. I like a bit of ambient light. I'd model outside if it weren't for dust, wind, biting flies, and mosquitoes. My bench is about 1M long with a useful working area of 40cm X 60CM. The rest is taken up by desk lamps, a couple of organizers, and other modelling detritus.
