  1. So uh... what's the replacement plane?
  2. After completing a couple large scale builds, I figure it's time to get back to some of my 1/48 scale treasures. The is Hobby Boo Boo's Fw 190D9. Amidst the mess. Partially experimental. I've decided regular model glue can take a long time to cure. Sinking and revealing seams that weren't there the day you sanded them smooth. So, all of the major seams along the wing edges and fuselage halves... I'm gonna glue with CA. Usually my photos here are taken after a bench clear off. But this is what it normally looks like;
  3. Recently completed: I spent more time on weathering these tracks than any previously. I think I've learned a lot about how rubber roadwheels react with the neighboring steel by looking at current photos. Thanks for looking! Gaz
  4. Wow! Very nice! Welcome to the forums!
  5. The Ju-52 mightn't have been a big seller. But I'm sur e a P-38 or Beaufighter might've. Or even a new, top of the line 109 or 190.
  6. They knew announcing that they were gonna release a 'new' model would generate hype. Bunch of assholes.
  7. Hah! not even a full kit. Just a Lancaster snout.
  8. Yep... confined spaces really demand EZ line or something like it. On my D.VII build, only four of the twelve lines are monofilament. Most are just too short or close to a surface for heat-shrinking.
  9. The complexity of aircraft models makes stripping a dangerous procedure. You don't want that stuff getting to the cockpit or other detailed places. Simple Green, Dettol, and Oven cleaner are also great for stripping acrylic paint. I really hate the thought of doing it.
  10. Thank you for the offer. I lost the MG3 and it's mount for a leopard 2a4. Replacing the MG is no trouble... it's the mount that matters most. I could probably scratch it... I'm just not in the mood.
  11. My friend, Windex is the same as any blue glass cleaner. Mostly ammonia.
  12. Love the subtle color changes on that A7!
  13. Hope you enjoy your Oeffag. I'll look forward tlo seeing it here. I was hoping WNW would eventually get around to the Oeffag machines. But I fear they'll never appear in larger scale.
  14. Glad to see you back in business! Looks like something you can weather one to your hearts content! I'm having a shitty day...modelwise.... Lost a machine gun and it's mount and my tank just won't look complete without it, I painted the damn thing two days ago. But have torn apart the house looking for it. Mojo killed. I can cannibalize an older build... but I'm not feeling keen.
  15. I'm not married to any scale... but one 1/48 biplane and I divorced any WWI below 1/32. My fumble fingers are too good at popping off the upper wing.
  16. Wow! That is amazingly bad. I'm glad there's no permanent damage.
  17. I don't understand what you mean by "panel color differences". There are a few unpainted areas on the tail of the F-4, maybe because they get sooty... I never asked why when I was in an RF-4 squadron for a few months. When I was there, they were painted in the 1980's era gray anti-radar scheme overall... except for those few areas on the tail.
  18. They look great, Rob!
  19. Love what you've done with both builds! I like the idea with the liquid mask. I may have to try that, myself.
  20. It all looks good to me! I have done the same thing while airbrushing a clear coat... forgot to put the cap on the damn AB! Were I ever to do the F4, I was considering this kit. But I have a lot of others to build before I do another jet.
