  1. Thank you for the detailed description, Rob. "mercurial personality and lots of training in Martial Arts" isn't a description of me. I made him up as the kind of person you wouldn't want to piss off.
  2. My current read:
  3. "It lieth low near merry England’s heart Like a long-buried sin; and Englishmen Forget that in its death their sires had part. And, like a sin, Time lays it bare again.........Oh, look a..........Squirrel !! Where is this phrase... minus the squirrel part, from?
  4. Rob, Love the solution to the wheels. I've always thought about buying a Proxxon Mini lathe. Have you turned much brass with it? Would you recommend it to a nearby friend who is known to have a mercurial personality and lots of training in Martial Arts? Cannon looks so cool.
  5. The decals really bring it to life! looks awesome!
  6. Looks amazing, Peter!
  7. NOw this one has to be my favorite of yours! Mightily impressed!
  8. Harrr... now she can be dis-masted with a well aimed broadside. Keep up the good work, Rob.
  9. Wow... the toothpick really makes it appear small. Nice work so far.
  10. More great progress, Kai! It's interesting to see all of the interior plumbing you have added. electronics are so beyond me. I can wire stuff together... but don;t really understand how to use a circuit board like you're using.
  11. Could this be Genghis Kahn? https://ancient.express88.info/mongolia-archaeologists-unearth-tomb-of-genghis-khan/?fbclid=IwAR2x9psnkHcSrqFVAnHQnjsgcYaXJvQzYoFlrNp7wjQXbxAJ_r7EbduKv_c
  12. The silk thread I have is Guttermann. I've had it for a while, but cannot remember what I paid for it.
  13. I actually only have one RFM kit so far... still sitting in the stash. Looks great, though.
  14. Now you have my attention! Love Dragon armor!
  15. I'm quite impressed by your level of detailing with the rigging and steering. Somehow, I thought that tiller arrangement would all be below decks with only the wheel visible. Thanks for the education. Have you ever considered silk thread? It's much less fuzzy than other threads, and after you've worked it and it has gotten a bit fuzzy, it can be de-fuzzed with the quickest lick of flame. And I mean quick! Then, it can be sealed with CA. It won't look as Rope-like in macro photos. But I much prefer it to fuzzy thread.
  16. Great work, Carl!
  17. Hi everyone. Two steps forward, two steps back. When I applied the air-drying clay the first time, I neglected to put any anchors in the foam. So, once dry, the clay detached itself from the base. I imagine I could have glued it back on... but I wanted to take this opportunity to improve the surface. One of the things I wanted to do way to fix the places of the soldiers while the clay was still wet. Hopefully the improvements will show as I go along... but here are the setup pics. Sadly, the resin handles of the Teller mines broke. I will have to replace them with wire, I reckon. Happy modelling!
