  1. Glad to see the progress, Phil. I've yet to complete a trumpeter aircraft kit. I've sold one for postage costs and binned two.
  2. Oh, this should be interesting!
  3. Great job, Brad!
  4. Always check for an Adam's Apple.
  5. Kaiser likes a bit of shit now and again, too.
  6. The Lada Raven: And to keep your mind off those high fuel prices....
  7. The dog that our daughter stiffed us with gets in the habit to dig. The wife suggested putting shit in the holes and then covering it up. It works to some extent. But not always.
  8. HI Gents, I'm sort of at a milestone in the build. If it weren't for Schurzen, I'd be ready for paint. Along the way, I've found a new way to do PE. I saw it on NIghtshift a few weeks ago, and tried it out myself. So, here it is. Once you have your PE sitting where you want it, before putting any CA on it, hit it with Tamiya extra thin. Adjust positioning if need be. It makes it stick... Like the metal parts sink into the softened plastic or something. Then, once the Extra Thin has cured, I reinforce it with thin CA. It beats the hell out of trying to get it right with CA on the very first contact. Anyway... here are the photos. If it's brass , white, or copper color, I added it. Anything dark is Eduard PE. At this time, the metal barrel is only dry fitted. Thanks for looking!
  9. Looks great!
  10. You need a jig. When I was doing the 1/48 Monogram B-29 I built a Jig. Cruciform base supporting a 4inX4in piece of lumber 1.5M tall. Atop the 4X4 I had a piece of angle iron bracket that could swivel 360 degrees. Attached to the side of that and held on by a wingnut was another cruciform made of wood. I glued some foam rubber to the upper cross to protect the underside of the bird. Then, I would use 4 pieces of panty hose to tie wings and fuselage to the cross. Unlike Rubber bands, panty hose won;t mar any surface, and always maintain tension even if tied with a not-super-tight knot.
  11. Great work on all of that camo, Mark!
  12. Very great looking build, John!
  13. Nice. That's allotta model.
  14. Well done! So tiny!
  15. Good stuff, Rob! Is the dinghy gonna be clinker or Carvel built?
  16. Love the painting of the wheel wells, Kai!
  17. Wow! Very nice!
  18. Very nice work, Carl. I always get hesitant about cockpits. I have decided that for the entirety of styrene model building history, that the model making companies have been doing us a disservice. How many fogged, scratched and ruined canopies could have been saved if they had been engineered so that the surfaces to be cemented were 1/4 in or so from the clear area? anyway…. I look forward to more progress.
  19. Great work on an interesting scheme, John. Can’t wait for the full reveal.
  20. Looking good, John! I'm lost in this sea of T-38's. Is this the yellow one, the NMF one, or another one?
