I never did either. Went to price them on eBay years back. And it looks like I won’t! -

Well, first I’ve noticed this post. Read the headline and thought you built this: But dagnabbit John! It’s so damned odd I had to have one and just placed an order for the kit from Super Hobby. Your build is spectacular! Will look great next to my oddball Cutlass. Looking forward to this one. edit: I just realized yours is the 1/48 kit. I ordered the 1/32 kit. -
Kevin, that revolver is worth more than $400. More like $600 or $650. I paid $600 for my stainless copy 4 years ago. S&W’s are making a big comeback in popularity lately, especially models without the “Hillary hole” like yours and mine. He sounds like a good friend! Both my boys are conservatives as well, one has a gun collection that is as big as mine. He’s doing pretty good as an Army Captain and owns a rental home he’s making bank on in a college town. The other could take them or leave them, but he’s into cars big time. But I made sure he has a few guns. When he made Eagle Scout I gave him the Henry .22 Eagle Scout edition rifle, 18th birthday both boys got an M1 Garand. I have two really nice WWII 1911’s I’ll hand down to them one day as well. And since his auto shop is in an out of the way place in an almost sketchy part of town I gave him a PSA Dagger for Christmas in ‘23. He keeps it in his shops PPE drawer. 🤣

Wow Kevin. He gave that to you? Very nice! I guess you’ll be cutting his grass all this summer now! I have the stainless version of that one.

It was one of my favorite builds!

LOL! There’s your culprit. You’re getting the daycare Petri dish bugs. Happens to me when mine started daycare, I watched my coworkers go through the same ordeal and now it’s happening again with our grandkids. My wife volunteered for us to keep the two youngest one time because the small one woman operation home daycare was closed due to her getting the bugs. So you guessed it. Grands show up snotty, coughing and running a mild fever. Told the wife this one is all her. I disappeared to my bench and let her catch all the bugs. She told me I was being silly. Two days later she realized I was right and then I wouldn’t get anywhere near her for days. I was lucky.

I got hit with covid 16 months back from visiting my Dr’s office. I was around no one, went no where except for my yearly physical. It took almost a year for my lungs to heal up where I could airbrush my lacquer paints (in a paint booth too) without it feeling like it was sucking all the air out of me.

Okay, it’s just the N that gets the forward vents. I was thinking the K had them as well. But with the N boxing, it’s parts F1 that Carl needs to include with his N tail. @BirwestSiR Any yes, I would give my left one up for a set of these Parrot Head decals too!

Yea, great idea. Poking holes with my twist drill will be a real beotch!

I did not need to know that. 😐 Pricing is double of Andy’s Sherman. I’ll wait and see if Andy brings one out or a sale on ILK.
-
Glad to see you got one John! I just ordered another E kit off Amazon from Japan for $40 to go with my tail. Now off to order those exhaust tips!
-
I’ve said it before, I’m waiting on a 1/16 M4A1 Sherman. But the new half track is another favorite of mine. I’m extremely tempted!

Sorry Chris, it was a one day flash sale. A lot of guys had a hard time getting the store to honor the price if they walked in without buying online. I did the online purchase and picked them up in the locker system they use now. Easy as ever!

Problem with flu vaccines is they are produced on the newest strain of flu at the time. By the time they get into production and then on the street the strain has either mutated where it’s not nearly effective or a different strain has gone “viral”. And not to mention the risks associated with them. My wife has had several patients that came down with Guillain-Barré Syndrome from a flu shot.

Back to working on the HEMTT with the Patriot missile launcher for my son. Trumpeter A Team was on this one guys. Everything fits perfectly and the detail is to the point of ridiculous. This is a ladder bracket. Has two of them. Yea, that’s my fingertip. Here’s the ladder it went on. See those 4 tiny ladder clamps on the right? Yea, I launched one to be forever lost. Stretched sprue replaced it. I have to pause here to apply more wash before proceeding. -

Yep, that’s it. Paid $20 for it on clearance at Walmart many years ago. -

I’ve been trying to find a new home for that huge Avenger. It’s just too big for my area. -

Since I wrapped up the P-40, I jumped on a quick project I’ve been putting off for 20 years or more. I bought this Pachinko machine off eBay 20 years ago and had it working great at work. Finally had to take it home to keep the boss from playing on it all day. LOL! There it sat in my basement ever since including after the move here. Wife lit a fire under my butt to get it mounted on the wall and get it working because the grandkids want to play it. So after $100 of lumber and a piano hinge, it’s mounted. I have 500 more Pachinko balls on the way and getting a piece of glass cut in the morning to replace the plexiglass on it now. And now she’s on my butt to get on this…. -
Well, she said no to the Amphicar. Said I don’t take her out in the boat enough as it is. I was big into RC back in the 1990’s. I was also about to buy a 5X10 enclosed trailer to haul my planes in. Wife gave me the choice between the trailer or irrigation system for the lawn. I was really sick and tired of dragging the hose around. So I sold my car and bought a van. Here’s a few from back in the day. This was a scratch build from plans I enlarged. Originally a 60” wing, I made it an 80” monster. I never flew it. Didn’t have the nerve to attempt it. It flew once by a friend of mine. This was a Joe Bridi kit. Big Bee. 96” wingspan, OS 300 FT twin cylinder 4 cycle engine. Only flew this one a couple of times and parted it out and sold it. We had just had baby #4 in April of 1999 and I started liquidating to build myself one more car, the ‘66 Mustang. In the meantime I was flying a low budget 60” wingspan Cub. With a brood of kids running around and the wife and I working opposite shifts at work, I never had time to learn to adequately fly and get my confidence up to fly the expensive birds.

Son just told me Myrtle Beach supposedly got about a foot of snow.

Mail delivery day!!! First up is a new part from Tim at B&B resin. No longer have to pay those inflated eBay prices for a Hasegawa P-40K! Tim has come out (with a little persuasion I’ll add) an improved K tail Now you can simply buy the abundant E kit and decals of your choice! Now I just need to sneak another E kit in under the radar. Second up is one of my Christmas raffle prizes. Big thanks out to Fran. Okay, I feel bad now because I didn’t post pics of the haul I got from Chris. I’ll follow up with that one later. And this final item might just be the final nail in my coffin. You see, I use to fly RC back in the 1990’s. I made a deal with the wife I’d give it up and build the ‘66 Mustang. I sold off everything but one kit I still have. One day it will be a display piece. But lately I’ve been thinking about getting a small backyard RC airplane again. Tiny. Not even interested in going whole hog like I did back in the day. But I still love the old 4 cycle glow engines and wanted one just incase I get my hands on a small airplane kit. I’ve discovered the hobby has gone to hell in a hand basket with all the low budget foam ARF planes and electric power now. Figured I’d grab a motor while I could since Saito discontinued to .30 a while back. If I do this, I want the smell of nitro burning in the morning! But I found this NIB Saito .30 out of Australia. It’s so tiny! Just under 9 oz. Yep, this might be a slippery slope I’m going down!
