  1. great finish and a very interesting scheme.
  2. Thanks for the nice compliments Frank. The texture finish on the bombs is quite simple. Mr. Surfacer 500 applied in a "stippled" fashion. 500lb GP bomb. Right - out of box kit bomb. Left - PE (brass) fins and front/rear fuse added, also painted with Mr Surfacer 500 then stippled with short brush for texture. Paint is done, now to decide of weather, chipping, etc. Hope this is helpful. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
  3. First production batch Typhoon 1b, think car door, had the uncovered cannon. The second production batch Typhoon 1b, think car door, had cannon covered. BTW really nice work to date.
  4. It has been a struggle to find bench time with recent family obligations. That said, I'll provide some additional shots of the finished M10's along with build progress images. My final pan is to add ignition wires and ordnance before mounting to "Slick Chick". Have yet to formulate an ordnance solution. Comparison with 2 Trumpy M10's I detailed with flat lead wire. The Trumpy M10's came out ok. However, I am glad I pulled the plug on the enhancements and go with the scratch build M10's. Styrene tube cut to 2mm slices set as mount stops. End pieces, nuts and washers added Using a hairdryer I slightly heated then bent the channel styrene. Mounts with swing arms attached to the tubes. Styrene rod with ends drilled out for ignition wire conduit added to the tubes. Mounts made from styrene rod and various sizes of styrene strips. Styrene strips added for the securing wraps. 3 styrene tubes glued together is just the beginning.

  6. hey John, welcome to LSM. Here is my complete WIP Hartmann Bf109G6 and finished pics Revell Bf109G6, Eric Hartmann I./JG53, February 1945. Here is LSM's Matt Low's review of Alley Cat's upgrade/corrections for Revell Bf109G6: 1/32 Bf 109G-6 Upgrade Set for Revell kit from Alley Cat. Barracuda Studios has a slew of Bf109G6 and G10 upgrades, scroll to bottom of this page.. Be sure to check out their Bf109 Wheel series, many options here. Good luck with your G6, G10 or G14. Ask questions on this forum. You will get lots of help and recommendations.
  7. 410 James! I'll be heading there in a few weeks.
  8. thanks Dave. they're real cute until they start shooting at you! thanks Nick, these last few months have been a complete blur. thanks! let's hope that detail shows, thanks. keeping my fingers crossed for success, thanks.
  9. A few weeks ago great strides were taken towards the completion of NASM's He219. Wings were flipped and are being prepared for move from the Garber Restoration facility to Udvar Hazy Center. Here is the link, enjoy: NASM He219 Wing Flip Best - Rick
  10. Warhawk Creations...you doing a NZ version?
  11. agree with you Nick, perhaps some scratch building may be in my future. I just secured a Grey Matter DB603 Thanks Chris I appreciate the assist offer. Will take you up on that when needed.
  12. for sure Dave. would be epic, especially if JH gets his game on with his 410 as well.
  13. Been off the bench and LSM for quite awhile. Looks like I have a ton of catching up to do. Some great builds in the WIP. I had a chance to get in some bench time last night and the M10's are complete with addition of nuts and other surface detail at rear of tubes. Will add ordnance in tubes, ignition wires after painting and then mount. Hope to do some primer later this week. Nuts and washers punched with RP Toolz Hexagonal Punch Die. See James Hatch review RP Toolz Punch & Die Sets. Not sure if 100% accurate, think FICE. Will yield interesting and nice detail though.
  14. Arrived day before we headed to Adirondacks (upstate New York to you non-colonists) for a totally unplugged vacation. One of several books I packed in my backpack. I poured through this almost every morning and the wear shows. An interesting historical read with plenty of great profiles. I lightened my stash via eBay. Kits I knew I would never build were shipped out. Surprisingly the sale went very well to justify this HpH beauty, also arrived day before our Adirondack outing so I only have a few moments to take a peek. Finally had some time early this week to drool over the parts and cross reference with instructions. This is gonna be fun. Original plan was to start this mid 2015 after my current WIP's and a Tamiya Uber Kit. Ain't gonna happen. I will kick this off late 2014 after my Ju88 Mistel 2. What a beautiful kit. I printed out instructions and may seem tricky. After studying instructions often it seems the journey can be accomplished keeping "test fit, test fit, test fit" in mind. James H, you were spot on regarding your review and much valued advice on this kit. Puts every resin kit I have seen to complete shame. The resin kit bar has been raised with this one. I am actually hoping for a AM conversion for a 410B-2/U4 5cm BK cannon or Bomb Rack with ordinance assortment. Considering Grey Matter's DB 603, firewall and mounts will have to be scratch built. Seems doable though. Belgian chocolate is gone!
  15. says Wehrmacht armor at Falaise
  16. Thanks guys, I just ordered a Lone Star P40B corrected pit and other goodies.
  17. I recently acquired Trumpy's P40B. What is the real 411 on the cockpit floor? Incorrect slope? Aftermarket replacement: Lone Star? CMK? Thanks for your help - Rick
  18. Add every positive adjective, synonym and antonym here! A pleasure to watch your WIP on this challenging project, bravo Tom!
  19. nice job picking out detail...watching
  20. Really nice work on this Stang. Love the presentation.
  21. Its been a very challenging 48 hours and I was happy to get in some "bench therapy". More progress on the M10's. A few more details and some bolt heads, rivets and I'll be done. There are flaws too numerous to mention. However, I am happy with the results so far. Hopefully a coat of paint and weathering will do some magic.
  22. future dip afterwards?
