Welcome back. I also took a break from modeling after getting burned out trying to force completion of some models that I lost interest in coupled with extremely busy work life. Good luck with the completion of your pilots license, that is a great achievement.

Are you a LSM member? Then show us your work!
wemattson replied to JeroenPeters's topic in General Discussion
Jeroen, Excellent topic. I too have been guilty of lurking and not posting. My main reason has been that my last major build didn't quite come out as nice as I had hoped. Also, this summer has been extremely busy and free time has been in short supply. However, once my busy period at work ends in a couple of weeks, I plan to dive right back into it and try to contribute more to this forum, which I think is one of the best around. Thanks for putting a fire under my rear. Cheers, Wayne -
1/32 Tamiya F-16C Barak
wemattson replied to Padubon's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Very nice! One of my favorite planes. I really like the subtle weathering; just enough to make it look used but well cared for. Looking forward to what else you have to show us. -

I was cleaning up my pictures folder on my laptop and came across these pictures I took last fall. These three aircraft were in town during their New England tour and are maintained and operated by the Collings Foundation. For a fee, you can catch a ride in these birds. It is always nice when they come to the Plymouth Airport because they let you walk right out onto the tarmac and get up close and personal with the planes and pilots. The B-17 is near and dear to my heart because my father's uncle was a radio operator in one (S for Sugar), which was shot down over Germany on 11 January 1944 after which he spent the remaining days of the war in Stalag 17B. I wish I had more time to take more pictures but I will try again next year.
