  1. I've still got my reservation booked. Just waiting to see if I'll be able to get there. Or more importantly, back into my own country afterwards. Carl
  2. Sounds like my diecast Stratos. But it was the later road car racer with the huge aero lip and wing.
  3. Thanks Harv! It's AK Polished Aluminum. Great paint to use.the gold is Gunze Mr Metal Color gold.
  4. Sectioned all four rims. The fronts needed two cuts, the rears one. Then I stripped the chrome off them. Took less than 5 minutes dipped in Super Clean. The fronts needed a new inner lip so made that from strip styrene. With a coat of paint on. Mocked up on the body. This is pretty similar to the box top photos of the actual car.
  5. Nice work there Phil. You guys are making me want to work on a plane again. Maybe after the Stratos.... Carl
  6. Thanks for adding the background to the choice of subject. Certainly nice to heat about personal connections to a model one is building. Carl
  7. Not sure the last time I asked Sue on her opinion of a model I'm building to be honest. Does choosing which one is sold and which one I kept count?
  8. Thanks guys for the feedback. I'm going with option B in gold. Carl
  9. Finally got a hit of time at the bench and pretty much used all of it mucking about with rim and tire options for the Stratos. The stock wheels and tires. The stock tires on honeycomb style rims from a Tamiya 934 The fronts would need to be narrowed a bit and I'd repaint the centres in gold. NSX rims and tires. I'm leaning towards the second choice.
  10. Haven't seen one of those before Gaz. Glad to see you taking another crack at it.
  11. Well, Bronco did the opposite and released a T-34 in 1/32 recently. * As in T-34 Russian tank and not the trainer plane.
  12. I'm looking forward to another Lanc build on here. Can't wait to see you make the mods and changes. Theres a thread on BritModeler where they're working on a 1/1 cockpit. The poster had out up lots of photos and measurements so that may be helpful with you corrections. Carl
  13. The P-40 is very tempting. Might even get the SR-71 and the Razor's Quest. Carl
  14. Great photos Steve and thanks for sharing them. Carl
  15. Happy New Year folks!
  16. It's got to be better than Lawn Dart. Clunk was their nickname. They were officially called the Canuck.
  17. CF-100 Clunk CF-105 Arrow I'll start with those. Carl
  18. She looks fantastic. It wouldn't know it two different kits cut and blended together. Carl
  19. Nice group of models Phil. Well done.
  20. Fantastic looking Starfighter. Great presentation as well with the display base and engine. Carl
  21. If you don't mind 1/72, this is coming out soon-ish. https://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=MC-UA72210
  22. Here's the link to the WIP thread on the display case.
  23. Thanks! It helps to have a couple boys who are getting into building models. Then I get to have bench time while watching the boys. As for the display case, I bought a pair of Ikea Detolf cases ad used the glass, wire frames, shelves and hardware. I made a new base and top from wood boards. It's probably the most cost effective way to get a case that size. Carl
  24. Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense. I'll have to look into those Albion Alloys connectors. Carl
  25. Thanks Rob! The Jeep would indeed have made things too crowded. So I'll save it for my next Scammell build which will be in NWE colours. I'll make a bigger base for that one.
