  1. You don't see too many of these made. Cool idea on the toothbrush sander. Mr Tools makes pretty much the same thing. Mine is somewhere on my bench. Carl
  2. Looks really nice to me too. Can't wait to see the next installment.
  3. I missed out on a Deagostini Falcon that went for $500. Have you picked up any of the upgrades for that beast? As for the Bandai plastic not reacting well, the big one I've heard is not to let any of the turpentine or enamel thinner pool on the model when doing washes especially on bare plastic. Lacquer paints (Mr Color, Tamiya) are okay. I've built a number of their Star Wars kits and haven't had any adverse affects and used Gunze's panel wash on it. Here's my 1/144 Falcon This is their 1/350 Falcon getting attacked by a giant space cat, my first try at a Bandai Falcon.
  4. Ok, wanted to get something finished before the end of the year so I naturally started something new. Pretty much one colour, and press fit. The instructions are even printed on the inside of the boxtop. Main hull halves: All the small detail bits. I painted everything in a mix of semi-gloss black, metallic blue and gun metal. Biggest pain is masking off the small detail colours. Hull together with the bridge attached. And finished! Not bad for 90 minutes work. Oh yeah, it's a 2020 release so I finally finished something that came out this year
  5. This is the one I've got: It uses LED strips instead of fibre optics for the small lights. The video on their site seems to show it works so we'll see.
  6. You're going to love it. A truly gorgeous kit. I would absolutely love to see Bandai work their magic on a 1/32 plane.
  7. Here you go: https://www.falcon3dparts.com/ They're 10% off for Boxing Day too. Are you planning to light yours? I've got a lighting kit but I'm still not sure.
  8. I know, first world problems eh?
  9. Ok, the area around my work bench was getting a bit out of hand. Way too many kits puked up not on shelves and I was just waiting for an avalanche of plastic to happen. So I reorganized my shelf space, got things better sorted and it's much better. In doing so, I managed to get all my Tamiya single engine prop kits into a single pile: They e all found a shelf to sit on now. And more importantly, I have some floor space back for the cats and dogs.
  10. Thanks Gaz! They definitely haven't been easy to align. I'm doing them in stages which I think is the best way to approach them.
  11. More work on the Patton. AFV Club have make the turret bustle rack out a billion fragile bits. Not really a billion but close enough. This bracket is 5 parts alone. Turret halves are together. Once the front is dry, I'll glue the rear half together.
  12. Got some cash from family so I have ordered some 3D printed accessories for my 1/2700 Star Destroyer. Now just to wait for them to arrive. Carl
  13. It is odd. If they did an Aggressor version like they did in 1/48, I bet they wouldn't be able to keep them in stock. And the two seater hinted at in the PE fret. Carl
  14. Nice Kubelwagen Phil. Glad to see you finished it. Carl
  15. Got some time at the bench today so worked on the M60. Added the handles to the engine deck too.
  16. So true. I always use the delivered price to figure out if a deal is really that good. Tamiya 1/32 Corsairs are often around $130-140 CAD online but then you add $40 -50 shipping and the potential 13% tax and it's close enough or even more than the $180 +13% tax at my LHS.
  17. If you're in Canada and not in a rush, Lucky Models' surface shipping option is a good one. Lucky owns Kinetic Models and they have a warehouse on the west coast. So they ship your order over by container with their Kinetic stuff and then, once it's in Canada, send it the best of the way via Canada Post. It's a domestic package so doesn't even show up on the radar. But, it can take 2-3 months to get to you so definitely can't be for something you need quickly. Carl
  18. Wasn't me! Honest! I was drinking Woodford Reserve last night.
  19. They've been talking to my wife haven't they? As long as it's vegetarian gravy.
  20. Thanks Ernie for running the raffle and making it so much fun as always. Hubert, I've got a 109 for ya. Carl
  21. Indeed. Just don't let your 2 1/2 year old son test fly it after completion. As for HGW belts, in case you don't already do so, I find it easier to leave the buckles attached to the fret and thread the belts through them before cutting them loose. Just made sure the attachment points aren't in the way of the belt.
  22. Merry Christmas from where we're actually getting a white Christmas for once! Saying that, I know you don't miss the fluffy white stuff Ernie. Carl
  23. Merry Christmas everyone! Carl
