  1. Thanks Mike! As for finding a kit, Hobby Search has a couple different ones in stock. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/m/search?typ1_c=102&cat=&state=&sold=0&sortid=0&searchkey=Firefly&spage=1&Make=Asuka+Model
  2. Thanks for sharing the photos Ernie. Some very nice models there. Carl
  3. Great work on the gunsight as well as fitting the nose cowl. Carl
  4. Martin, I can't wait to see what you do with a Birdcage. I've done one so far and it's definitely my most weathered build ever. Took a bunch of trial and error to get something suitable.
  5. The Felixstowe is looking amazing there Tony!
  6. Quick weekend update. I masked off the wheel bays. At the same time, I did the tailpipe.
  7. Thanks Phil! I generally try not to give up on a kit unless it's well and truly pear shaped. Plus, if I feel that it's a bad enough flaw that I've paused on it, I've got nothing to lose by trying a re-do.
  8. Man, 600 square feet is more than half the size of our house!
  9. I'd love to get a set of those RP Tools punches. I've got the Waldron ones but hopefully I can upgrade in the future.
  10. They really are pretty impressive. Carl
  11. Nice comparison there Rick. Carl
  12. Great photos of some even better models. Thanks for sharing them everyone for those of us who couldn't be there. Carl
  13. Nice! I'll have to get the one with the big cannon to go with my Ju88P-1 and TSE TSE Mossie. Carl
  14. Thanks Tony! Like your Felixstowe, the redo was definitely worth it. Carl
  15. We built a new garage a couple years ago. My wife expressly forbade me from doing any hobbies in it. She said " it's a garage for the cars and not your new workshop". Since I have pretty much half the basement for my bench and stash, I thought that was fair enough.
  16. Thanks Martin! That's next to mask off and paint. Then I have to figure how to get the ejection seats in.
  17. Looks fantastic Mark. As for forgetting bits, I have a Revell Spitfire missing an entire cockpit side panel. Didn't notice it until about a week after I was done. Carl
  18. Nice progress there Tony. I'm all too familiar with the rework as I'm doing the same thing on my CT-133. Carl
  19. Ok, I managed to get the antiglare panel and the radome painted. Were the wheel wells silver or chromate green? Those are up next.
  20. Thanks for posting those Rick. I'm hoping to tackle this kit at some point. Carl
  21. If someone does, I'd probably have to bet one and the WNW kit. There's a shopping mall here in Toronto that used to have a very large pair of models (at least 1/2 actual size) of Snoopy in a Camel and a Fokker Triplane hanging from the ceiling. Still don't know the context of the display but it was always cool to see.
  22. Absolutely gorgeous Ernie! Have fun at the show and tell us what else you find. Carl
  23. So if one DID want to build the Snoopy nemesis, which kit would be the better starting point? Does it even make an appearance in any of the Peanuts cartoon strips to identify the type? Carl
  24. It may not be a true NMF but I think it comes close enough without all the headache. There was a C-119 at the shop one of the staff had done using the same paint and it had the same finish as mine. So definitely not a fluke.
