Nice link Jeff. There's also this one which has lots of info on various Tigers and on kits too. http://tiger1.info/ -

Looks so menacing in the black primer. -
Me too! Please thank Mikey's cousin for me then.

I'm colourblind and I can even tell it's green.

Pegasus really did a great job on the sculpts and they each include a diorama base which might explain the odd stance. The triceratops is supposed to be mid stride. The Spinosaurus is standing on top of a very large fish it's caught. Probably an ancient relative of those tuna that Smitty has gone fishin' for. The T-Rex is standing on a baby triceratops. -

Great start. The fenders look great. How is the PE zimmerit to work with? I've never tried it and only used the Atak sets a couple times with mixed results. Carl -

Well, they meet all three criteria of being large scale models. They're also heavy too, being solid vinyl. They still a few small bits added and then time for paint. I wonder if I should do the T-Rex in a late WWII German ambush scheme? Carl -

Thanks for the tips Ryan. I'll have to give it another try next time. -

That looks really great Ryan. What are you using for the control cables? EZ Line? Carl -
Next up was the rear hatch and some more work on the engine deck. Hopefully I'll get that all done tomorrow and can get onto some painting soon.

I've pretty much finished applying all the zimmerit now. I got the front done today With the grid cut into it. A 3/4 view to see how it ties together.

Thanks Rob! I'm happy with the hand made look too. The Atak sheet looked too perfectly square from what I saw. Same with the Dragon kit that has the zimmerit pre-moulded onto the hull. Thanks Mike!
-
That's was the one. They bought the whole lot and moved it to a storage facility to sort through. I know they're planning to donate some of the kits to various groups as the boxes were damaged. Otherwise, I think the plan is to bring the.into the shop slowly.
-
Jeff, if you ever make it to Toronto, check out Wheels and Wings. I don't know what their total inventory is but they bought a 10,000 kit collection at the end of last year. They haven't even been able to sort through it yet but I'm waiting.

Have fun and enjoy the toro!

Sd.Kfz.10/5 mit Sd.Ah.51...
BlrwestSiR replied to Wumm's topic in D-Day 75th Anniversary Group Build
If only it could have had the same dimensions. Still, it's going to look pretty neat once you sort it out. Carl -
With that part done, I glued it into place. I finally joined the upper and lower hulls. I had to sand the edges of the sponsons a bit to get a good fit. I marked on the upper hull where the original positions of the tool racks were. These would have bare of zimmerit. I then added the zimmerit to the upper hull. So that I don't accidentally smush the zimmerit before it dries, I work on different sections. So I did the lower glacis (sp?) panel next. That's it for now.
-
So staying with zimmerit, I got more done today. Here's the rear hull with the bins and exhausts test fit. I then did the sides of the rear bins. Next was the rear of the upper hull.
-
That's not cheating, that's the logical way to do it. I couldn't find a set for this kit of I would have done the same. The closest was for the Dragon kit.
-
Wow! I thought it was long gone too. Well, I'm definitely going to build it after a story like that. Edit: I forgot to say I actually checked the postmark date to see if it had been lost at the post office the whole time.
-
I finished applying the zimmerit to the rear hull. I've now started on the upper hull. The pic I have shows the zimmerit behind the skirt mounts but not above it where the spare tracks and tools were mounted. So it looks like there's going to be some blank areas.
