  1. Well, I think I've run out of bench space. I'm having to step over kits just to get to my bench. It's not much better behind my bench either... Guess there's only one thing to do... ...I've got to finish something!
  2. The good stash is all in big kits so they're harder for them to pull out. For now at least... Their interest in cars have already started. Findlay was recently upset at the possiblity that autonomous cars might eliminate his chance at learning to drive in 8 years. We told him truly self driving cars are much further away and not to worry.
  3. Really nice build John. Nice and clean as always. Carl
  4. That's the plan. I'd lost one of the exhaust stubs but recently found some resin ones so hopefully I'll get it finished this year.
  5. This should be fun to watch. So John, are going with glossy sea blue or the earlier tri-coloir scheme? Carl
  6. So true guys. No requests yet for AM but it's only a question of time... This morning I go woken up because my oldest Findlay wanted a sanding stick as Edward wasn't sharing. It turns out they'd woken up at 630 and raided the stash. Thankfullybi have some older 1/72 Hasegawa kits so good practice for them. Carl
  7. I was on the 401 (Trans Canada Highway) going from Montreal to Toronto and was doing 130 kph (around 80mph) which is 30 over the limit. I see a car catching up behind me as I'm passing a couple 18 wheelers in the left lane. The minute I clear the trucks the car flashes its high beams so i move over. It's an OPP ( Ontario Provincial Police) cruiser. I think I might be in trouble but nope, just wasn't going fast enough for him. These days though, with the new street racing law here in Ontario, it's best to stick to 120-125 on 400 series highways. Carl
  8. Martin, maybe check art stores for Apoxie. I picked up mine from the neighborhood art store.
  9. So my 6 year old son is working on a Revellogram 1/72 F-14 snap kit and blurts out " Whoever made this kit did a terrible job! I can't get my cutters around the (sprue) tab as it's in a stupid place." This is one of the few snap kits he's put together. He's built a few regular kits already but this was out of a loot bag from his birthday party so I thought would be a quick build. I think I've let the monster out of the cage and he'll be demanding only Tamiya or Hasegawa kits from here on. Carl
  10. I'm glad to see it back on the bench too John. Mine is probably about 75% done and has been that way for 10 years at least. Carl
  11. The IP and pedals look great Ernie. At least you only knocked off half the levers. I'd have knocked off most of them. And glued the rest to my fingers. Or worse, to our cat who's always in my lap. Carl
  12. I don't see a Boss 302 Mustang so that can't be it. Might need to use something other than my phone to look at the pic.
  13. Here's a pic of VRA with the covers off. I can't recall if I posted it earlier. The question is would they have changed the exhausts since she's a warbird?
  14. But if you bought three sets, then you'd have enough to replace the Siamesed ones. Each set would have 16 usable stubs so three sets give you the required 48. But this would probably be even easier. Can't believe how fast you did those up Mike! Carl
  15. Great start there Peter! The Montex masks will be vinyl. They're going to be more forgiving compared to Kabuki tape. One thing you should get is called transfer film. It will allow you to apply the mask in one piece and helps keep things aligned when you do. It's fairly cheap and you can find it on Amazon. There's different kinds too. I have some that's like a thicker, less sticky kabuki tape and I have a roll that's like the vinyl the masks are made from. Both have pros and cons. If you have any questions about using them, especially for the roundels, just ask. I've got a bunch of step by step pics around. Carl
  16. Ernie, what about the Eduard resin ones? https://www.eduard.com/eduard/mosquito-fb-mk-iv-exhaust-stacks-1-32.html?cur=2&listtype=search&searchparam=Mos They look pretty close. You'd have to buy three sets though to make up for the siamsed ones. Carl
  17. If you guys do end up having a meet, can I throw my car in the trunk of one your cars? It should fit without any issues. That way I don't have to hide in a different row. Got a bit of fun ahead of me this year as I need to change the timing belt. Which should be fun on a mid engine car. Carl
  18. The Ewoks happened because Lucas suddenly had kids who were old enough to go see his movies and he wanted something cute in them.
  19. Peter, it's so glad to hear you're not only back at the bench but more importantly here too! I'm liking your mostly OOB approach to the kit as well. Don't get bogged down with all the fiddly bits. Once I try to get some of these big twins off my bench, I'm gonna do something simple and different too. Like maybe changing the timing belt on my car. Carl
  20. Great video. Thanks for sharing it.
  21. Thanks Harv and Ryan! Starting on the decals now.
  22. Plot device? They were torpedoes though so maybe they were designed to do that...
