  1. I'm definitely mixed up. I like to build subjects from many categories. Keeps things interesting for me and I like the variety.
  2. That's usually the case here.
  3. Surprisingly no. Not sure what I did wrong.
  4. Good question there Scott. I know they're getting hard to find these days but the decals are missing (not that I'd use them) so maybe that's one reason it was so cheap?
  5. As usual, Fur wanted pets as soon as she saw me at the bench. Which is a bit of a challenge when you're airbrushing. Sigh... At least she didn't contribute to the paint job.
  6. Rob, to be honest I'm not really sure. Two of the tires have actually degraded and I missed out on the replacements made by MFH. Both times. I do work on it from time to time but I should just get it done.
  7. Just catching up on your Renault Rob and it's fantastic. Great job on the wiring and plumbing. Tamiya has stuck with their vinyl tubing for decades and should look at other materials and a better way to attach them. The chrome paint came out fantastic too and was worth the effort of stripping the original finish and re-doing it. Overall a very inspirational build. Makes me want to work on my MP-4/6 that I started in 1993.
  8. I took the boys to the LHS. They bought some tiny (1/100?) scale tanks. Made my eyes hurt looking at them. I picked up some paint for the Andromeda and a couple kits that I had paid for earlier. I'm not the biggest Mustang fan (heresy I know) but for $16 I couldn't resist. Supposedly shape wise, it's ok if a bit basic. Not quite the same category as @ScottsGT's Sea Fury. Another Spitfire as I don't have an VIII in the stash. The VIII is a great base kit for other versions. Of the 3 I've built so far, only one is an VIII. The other two were converted into a VII and a XIV. This will probably end up as an FR XIV. Sticking with Spitfires, last of the line evolution -wise: Another good deal at $49.
  9. Very appropriate build there John. If I ever get to the one I have in my stash, I'll know what to look out for.
  10. You're pretty close Hubert. The car you're thinking of is the Chevy Chevette.
  11. UNCF Andromeda from Space Battleship Yamato, which is a Japanese anime.
  12. Lots of work there Scott. Great problem solving on making the gear fit.
  13. Not really an intermission on the Spitfire but just something I wanted to start on.
  14. That looks amazing. The breech view looks very convincing. Carl
  15. Just checked my two copies and both just have one canopy.
  16. Scott, for the canopy, maybe try the Squadron vac for the Typhoon. I know folks would buy the Fisher Sea Fury resin one for the MDC Tiffie so the shape should be close, if not the same.
  17. Glad to hear it'll work out and that it arrived safely. I remember first hearing about the Fisher correction sets for the Hobbycraft kit at an old hobby shop near me. The guy there said it basically corrected everything in the kit by throwing away just about the entire kit.
  18. That's the second time spell check changed your name. I enter it correctly and it changes it. Gotta love technology. The paint looks great. How did you paint it so neatly with all the details in place?
  19. Phew, for a moment I thought you said no Gundams. Giant robots with huge guns here I come.
  20. Great work on the Mossie Phil. Once you have all those subassemblies together, it's going to be huge.
  21. Happens to me all the time. Still haven't figured it out.
  22. There's a high back XIV coming. Mainly a change to the vertical tailplane fillet. He's working on a P-51B conversion and he's started on a Spitfire XII. Which hopefully means a Seafire XV will follow along after that.
  23. Rob, that really looks amazing. The dial on the control is truly impressive. No idea what it does either.
  24. That looks like it'll be a big improvement to the kit.
